FSD Jetstar

Featured Replies

I see the ad for the upcoming Jetstar from FSD. I commend them for their efforts, but I question, why at Jetstar? There has been a cry for a top notch payware business jet for ages, yet no one has delivered up to this point, as far as I know. FSD has taken a step in the right direction, but why not a Lear or Falcon or something that's actually still flying in a majority of the world?

Ok, I admit I forgot about them. I'm not a fan for some reason. I can't justify purchasing a Citation X, which is arguably the worlds most advanced business jet, only to find out it comes with the default GPS as its primary navigation.I've tried the Citation II, but I find that throttle settings are a little whacky, and speed increases and decreases way too rapidly for me to believe that its a realistic representation.

I'd kill for a Lear. Especially some of the older models.

Agreed. A 20 model. Something that hearing protection is almost required within a half mile of the departure runway. Something that jets off the runway and makes the teacher stop talking for 30 seconds, as often happens here at Embry-Riddle.

Yeah, I agree. A 20 or one of my favorites, a 31.I still can't figure out why nobody has done a good Gmax Payware Lear. It is one of, if not the most, popular business jet of all time.I think there would be quite a large market for such an aircraft in FS. I have ALWAYS wanted a good Lear. The last great one was for FS2002 (or was it FS2000?), IIRC, and was made in FSDS.

I think a lot of people would "kill" for a suite of Biz jets done with the same attention to detail as, say, the Aeroworx B 200, or Dreamfleet's Beechcraft. Unfortunately, until that time we have to make do with flying the Citation X with a crappy FS stock gps. ricardo

Wow, I was expecting to get bashed for my comment on Eaglesoft. Jim...thank you! I'll be the first in line...7 weeks in advance, just like those crazy Star Wars fans.

It is, like many things in this world, an optional extra. Like all aircraft, the primary source of navigation is the pilot... ;)>I've tried the Citation II, but I find that throttle settings>are a little whacky, and speed increases and decreases way too>rapidly for me to believe that its a realistic>representation.Your basis for that conclusion is what? I'll rely on the reports from the plethora of real world pilots for a more reliable evaluation, thanks. If you were unhappy, did you request a refund?

I have to say I was a bit reluctant to get the X because of the lack of an FMS and other small details, but I did just based on the aircraft itself, and I am totally happy I did. To put it plainly the Aircraft is a sheer delight to fly, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it!But,I am a bit of a systems fan so if Eaglesoft sees fit to come out with an FMS I'll be first in line, as well as for any developer that does a bizjet to Aeroworx B200 or Flight1 ATR standards:-)I'm really looking forward to what FSD does with the Jetstar.

Ok, so if stock equipment is 2 nav/comms and a HSI, but how many instances do you see where someone pays upwards of 20 million and they don't opt for the upgrade?I am a real world pilot, thanks. While I don't have any turbine time, I'd be willing to bet that a Citation II is not dirty enough to cause a loss of 20-30 knots in less than 10 seconds with only the slightest reduction in power.I continue to stick to my earlier comments.

You may want to calibrate your throttles and setup...Rob Young did the FDE on all our jets and the CII and CJ1 fly like a dream and perform very well:-)I'm a real world pilot also, as is Lonny Payne who programmed the CX gauges. We hear that many of the systems modeled in our CX are used in actual training scenarios so you might say we came pretty close right out of the box.We also know some Corporate Pilots who fly FMS/FMC equipped aircraft every other day and totally IGNORE the FMS/FMC unless the length of flight justifies it's use.We also know of flightsimmers who own FMS/FMC equipped models who do no USE the equipment in the aircraft as well.Don't take this too seriously folks but it would seem the the Flight 1 Lear or the FSD Jetstar had BETTER include and FMS or face the wrath of simmers everwhere:-) :-)
