January 14, 201511 yr I was flying the Flight 1 King Air from Jamaica to Key West. I got the crash about 15 miles out from the island into the ocean. This is what it said Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library --------------------------- Runtime Error! R6025 - pure virtual function call Then the sim crashed and I got an APPcrash with the terrain.dll causing the fault supposedly. I only have 8 GIGS of RAM would adding another 8 gig stick reduce these crashes? Thanks! Jeff Commercial | Instrument | Multi-Engine Land AMD 5600X, RTX3070, 32MB RAM, 2TB SSD
January 14, 201511 yr I doubt it - unless for some reason your ram was bad. That's odd though - I've only ever seen that CTD with P3D | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
January 14, 201511 yr Yes, so far only with P3D and in sim only enable terrain tessellation made it go away. Did you just fly with FSX-SE or did you have some add-ons installed? FSX-SE uses newer MS Runtime libraries, whereas some of the older scenery designed with FSX uses older MS runtime libraries, which could cause this crash. In computer speak, the R605 is caused by the software (could be old add-on or newer code) thinking that there are an implementation behind that virtual function, but did not find any, so crash. January 14, 201511 yr Author Thanks Ryan and Vu, that's something I'll have to monitor more closely to know which scenery I can/can't use. Jeff Commercial | Instrument | Multi-Engine Land AMD 5600X, RTX3070, 32MB RAM, 2TB SSD

January 15, 201511 yr I've been getting the same error as the OP on a vanilla FSX Install after 15 to 20 minutes on UK flights. I've never had this with FSX (DVD version) VAS usage was around 2GB and I have 16GB RAM so an OOM is not the problem though I did try turning down the Autogen but it didn't make any difference. All my software is on SSDs. Other components are i7 5820 and GTX780 I might try a reinstall and see whether there is any improvement. Michael Turner
January 15, 201511 yr Well, a 10+ hr flight using FSX-SE as a scenery generator for Aerowinx PSX was my longest, uneventful flight in FSX-SE so far - no hint of a crash, even after using time acceleration in PSX, which used to CTD FSX Gold...
