FYI Guys noticing a black screen and p3d crash to desktop in win 10 - quick search at LM forum it was mentioned aero peek needs to be on and I said well it was in win 7 but checked and it was not on hoping this solved it - so its not on by default so right mouse click on taskbar / properties and turn it on

Clean driver install - problem still persist - I added UIAutomationCore into P3D main folder could not re-produce the problem - thats weird never had to use that trick before - until next P3D major release and do a clean install I can live with it

I don't hate Windows 10. I hate forced "optional" Windows Updates.

I do to but not entirely sure thats the case - I dont know enough about it one would assume there is a switch jsut like win 7

There isn't. Every update is mandatory, both "Recommended" updates and "Optional" updates. There's no option to turn this off.

Correct - we all agreed to this program when we signed up for the Insiders program:

You also cannot opt out of the emails from the Insiders program:

This is a mandatory service communication. If you wish to stop receiving emails about the Windows Insider Program, you will need to leave the program.

Their rules that we agreed to so I do not understand the amount of complaining and trying to defeat the automatic updates system.

You will when they install an update that makes your Sim run badly.

I suppose it's ok if you don't care that a new graphics driver wrecks the lighting at your airports but It does annoy some folks.

@Mazo (Lyn) - you are correct that when you sign up for the Windows Insider program you agree to all updates and emails, but you can defer (delay) updates on the Pro version, which is the version Insiders are testing.  This gives enthusiasts time to see what others are saying before installing the update. This capability is being implemented as a nod towards the Enterprise who need to carefully manage updates.

This update model is also fully implemented in the Windows 10 General Availability (GA) versions released on 29 July.  All users of Windows 10 Home version are agreeing to allow MS to update their machines automatically, period.  However, all users of Windows 10 Pro and Enterprise will have the ability to defer updates (works this way starting in build 10130).  Updates cannot be deferred indefinitely, but it is believed you can defer for up to 8 months max (not verified).

I will repeat.

The forced updates are NOT just "Recommended" updates, but also "Optional" updates.

Are you on XP/Vista/7/8.1? Open Windows Updates, and go look in "Optional" section. Everything you see there would have been installed if you were on W10.
