[24JAN15] FSX:SE Compatibility and Other Juicy News...

Recommended Posts

I downloaded the new installer and installed it Ok into FSX SE, (I have uninstalled FSX box)

Problem is that when the 777 is called up, the mouse will not operate any of the cockpit switches, but it will make the control column shrink, strangely. The cockpit is also cold and dark which is not the normal initial setting in my experience.

If I switch to another aircraft, the mouse control of switches etc, works normally.

I have reinstalled the 777 three times with the same result.

Am I missing something.

SP1d (full installer only) is only available from the 'previous orders' page on the PMDG website.  You need to read the death of the Extended Download Service (EDS) sticky posted last night as well.  You only need SP1d (full installer) for compatibility for FSX:SE, it's not any different than SP1C for FSX:MS.

Did you check your orders? I checked mine and I found the installers there (and it is the first place I checked despite me checking a few days ago to say the links are expired (it isn't anymore as I got the new links)). If you are looking for the updater, I apologise but only the full installer is available.

As far as I know and it's been said here plenty of times over the years, all PMDG full-installers are immediately updated when service packs (updates) are released.  So the full-installers now available in your PMDG account details page, are the same as your previously download installers and updaters.  If in doubt, check the version number at the top of each readme.txt file included within all their download zips.

You will need to log into your account at the main PMDG web site. Once there, you can access the page for your previous purchases. There will be a new full installer for the 777-200LR, and also for the 777-300 if you own that product as well.

If I go to Previous Orders I see the order I did last July for the 777 base package, with the related file, nothing else. Should I re-download that one?

This is what I did-

1.open up PMDG's site

2.LOGIN/REGISTER Button

3.View previous orders

4.then I click on the required Order no. #

5.I scroll down and in a section labelled  Downloadable Product(s) Information

There is a download url for my 777-200 base package but AFAIK its for my older order for FSX:Boxed

any help will be appreciated and once again sorry for my ignorance .

As the capt. said in his OP, the full installer SP1D is v1.10.6320.  This version number is stated at the top of the readme.txt file included within the zip that you download from the PMDG website - yes, you have to login and look at your previous orders.  It is SP1D and should work with both FSX:MS and FSX:SE.  If in doubt, check the version number at the top of the readme.

Ok, I found that you have to download your base package again, inside there is SP1d. Now, when installing it, do you have to do a repair or reinstall from scratch?
