Douglas DC-6

Hi all,

Nice pictures of the DC6 that PMDG are supposed to be basing their DC6 on.

I wonder if we will ever see the PMDG DC6 in FSX. It seems that they have gone off at tangents making products compatible with P3D, FSXsteam edition and their X plane projects. I do understand that from a commercial basis this makes sense while the market is so keen for P3D and Steam edition addon's.

The forum has gone very quiet recently on anything to do with their FSX products, the 747v2 and DC6 seem to have fallen by the wayside in the rush to make money from the emergence of P3D and steam fsx.

Happy Flying,

Dave Phillips.

Dave-

That is officially the most ignorant comment I have seen posted in this forum, which really is saying something.

If it helps to alleviate some of your complete lack of awareness of fact:

We have nearly the entire development team working on FSX:SE conversions at the moment- and these conversions are being provided at no cost to all existing customers.  Since we had not planned to find ourselves in a situation where we would be devoting an all-hands effort to supporting a version of FSX that, prior to December 14th was unexpected, it has put ALL FSX development on hold- which means the 747-400v2.0 and the 747-8i, both of which are very deep into development on the FSX platform- as discussed in dozens of other posts by me in this forum.  (And <Gasp> one of those posts is pinned at the top of the forum, too!  I really should work at not hiding it so effectively...)

We provide a steady diet of updates on XPL development, P3D development, and- yes- in spite of your absolutely stupid comment- FSX development.

In the future, please don't miss an opportunity not to offer conjecture on topics you know nothing about.

PLEASE NOTE THAT PMDG HAS DEPARTED AVSIM

You can find us at:  http://forum.pmdg.com

I will finally jump in to the PMDG world if/when they release this aircraft. Nothing else on their menu interests me, as the largest plane in my hangar is a Twin Otter ^_^ .

Thanks for the link. Will save these pics for a future repaint!

Cheers,

Robert,

I'm wondering if this was one of those cases where it's good to type your initial 'feelings', then walk away from the keyboard for 10 minutes and think better of posting it.

I can understand the frustration of reading someone's views that differ so much from your own (including your insider knowledge, clearly).

But Dave is still a PMDG customer, and there was nothing offensive in his post - he simply gave a viewpoint that, as a FSX user, he sees a lot more focus on FSX:SE, P3D and XPL from PMDG at this time.

I think you're better than this reply.

2c.

Hello Robert,

can you give us maybe a small update of the status of the DC-6? Will its development get priority after the release of the 747-400v2 and the 747-8i?

Greetings
Tim

We have nearly the entire development team working

I know this is completely off topic but just out of pure and utter curiosity,  how many people do work at PMDG.  I know its probably something a child would ask but just wondering really.

I've wondered too.

I say take your time and get the planes done right. When their done their done. I'd rather wait another year for quality than have right now with a ton of glitches and updates.

P.S. Keep up the good work guys.

We have nearly the entire development team working on FSX:SE conversions at the moment- and these conversions are being provided at no cost to all existing customers.

Thank you very much for doing it for free, much appreciated. I'm looking forward to the NGX version for FSX:SE.
