February 8, 201511 yr Hello, Could someone who has purchased the license or someone from the dev team post some info, recommendation from PMDG on setting in P3Dv2 to be able to do long haul flight with this bird without OOM please? Until 64 bit support this is even more of an issue with P3Dv2 not less than it was in FSX. I tried the PMDG website but I could not find anything, and the other release thread is filled with people complaining about having to pay again and nothing else on the actual flight in the new platform. Thanks in advance. Vu Pham i7-13700K 5.2 GHz OC, 64 GB RAM, RTX5090, SSD for Sim, SSD for system. MSFS2020, XP-12, DCS
February 8, 201511 yr Yesterday I made my first P3d flight (KEWR-CYYR) with PMDG 777.Flight ended with OOM. I noticed , at the Newark Airport gate VAS was between 700 560 MB. This was the lowest VAS I ever saw at the gate. I have High End PC all slides were one notch lower then MAX. Ai Traffic not activated. It was a disappointment. It looks like we have a long way to go. 777 cockpit was low dark. I have the open cockpit lights, but PMDG777 performance was great. http://imageshack.com/a/img633/7461/lmyOQR.jpg I am not going any where with 500MB Ahmet Sanal "Time you enjoyed wasting, was not wasted"
February 8, 201511 yr Until 64 bit support this is even more of an issue with P3Dv2 not less than it was in FSX. No it's not. P3D is more optimized than FSX when it comes to VAS. People who report problems mostly have too high settings. With cloud shadows, autogen at normal and 1024 textures I have 1.5 Gb of free VAS in the PMDG 777 at Aerosoft Mega Airport Frankfurt. When I start with 1.5 Gb of free VAS, I never have problems flying to another add-on airport. Carlo Kraemer [email protected] ∣ Asus ROG Strix B650E-E ∣ 64Gb@6000MT ∣ NVidia 5090 FE
February 8, 201511 yr Carlo. Here I am at Frankfurt AP ,with cloud shadows, autogen at normal and 1024 textures . Default Ai traffic 24% Remaining VAS 665 MB around 300MB will be OOM http://imageshack.com/a/img661/2594/GtIbih.jpg Frankfurt AP, ALL Slides at Left. Still PMDG777 VAS around 700MB http://imageshack.com/a/img909/3858/VA3jts.jpg Ahmet Sanal "Time you enjoyed wasting, was not wasted"
February 8, 201511 yr Ahmet, must be something wrong with your P3D install. This is my situation at Mega Airport Frankfurt: And this is with cloud shadows, 1024 textures, 10m mesh, 30 cm texture res, tesselation ultra, LOD high (4.5), scenery complexity dense and autogen normal, water detail low, shadow map count medium and WOAI traffic at 35%. And I have FTX Global, FTX Vector and FTX openLC Europe installed. If I save the flight and then start P3D with from the saved file, I get an additional 150 Mb of free VAS (this is a known bug in P3D v2.4 which will be fixed in P3D v2.5) Carlo Kraemer [email protected] ∣ Asus ROG Strix B650E-E ∣ 64Gb@6000MT ∣ NVidia 5090 FE
February 8, 201511 yr Yesterday I made my first P3d flight (KEWR-CYYR) with PMDG 777.Flight ended with OOM. I had the same issue first time I loaded the 777. it exited me out. with the VAS close to 150mb remaining.. but the second time I loaded the 777, it was fine... I now have more than 1,000,000 remaining in TNCM Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
February 8, 201511 yr Carlo provided information of value to everyone: P3Dv2.4 has a known bug where VAS is consumed and not released during aircraft selection. Workaround until P3Dv2.5 is to create your flight and save it... exit and restart P3D and load your flight. I also have OOM issues that I thought I had resolved but they came back recently on my KJFK-EGLL flight. I've dug into both P3D forums and used their setup tweaks (link is in the introduction) but all I've learned is there are some fixes in v2.5. I am learning a new habit of saving the flight before TOD and restarting, reloading the flight has worked everytime for me. I think PMDG is the first complex add-on aircraft LM folks have had to support so I'm not surprised that there are some adjustments required. Meanwhile, I am going to give Carlo's settings a try. I've been using med water effects and he uses low, might explain why my VAS increases over the ocean. Dan Downs KCRP
February 8, 201511 yr OK..I will try. I will uninstall P3D and reinstalled it. I hope I am wrong. Thanks All Ahmet Sanal "Time you enjoyed wasting, was not wasted"
February 8, 201511 yr Another useful tip: Add the following line to the [Main] section of the Prepar3d.cfg file: AlwaysFullLoad=1 This was raised by LM on their forums and seems to help with OOMs Best regards Carlo Kraemer [email protected] ∣ Asus ROG Strix B650E-E ∣ 64Gb@6000MT ∣ NVidia 5090 FE
February 8, 201511 yr Anyone managed to load the 777 in OMDB (Fly Tampa's Dubai)? Hmm..I can't start a flight here..too much VAS consumption. I can't even load a flight Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
February 8, 201511 yr I managed a flight from Istanbul (Taxi2Gate) and Munich (aerosoft) with 50 % WOAI, ASN in use, ORBX openLC, Vector, FTX Global and no issues regarding VAS. I just used low settings like no cloud shadows, low autogen... Philipp Schwaegerl
February 8, 201511 yr I just used low settings like no cloud shadows, low autogen... Let me see how low I can go... This is a bummer.. I don't think I can give up on FSX now.. Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
February 8, 201511 yr As far as I can see the VAS usage should be better under P3D 2.5. Philipp Schwaegerl
February 8, 201511 yr Carlo, OK. I made the flight. Reinstallation increased the FPS. Settings adjustment was according your advise, Departure Gate VAS around 890MB. At landing gate 310 MB around. Most There was no OOM. (KEWR-CYYR) I did not install FTX/ Vector and AI traffic yet. Let see how much hit I will receive it. Thanks for your help Ahmet Sanal "Time you enjoyed wasting, was not wasted"
