The perfect scenery for FS9

If I wan't best possible scenery in the FS world what do you think of this combinationFSGenesis 38 m meshAmerican Data roads rails powerlines streamsUltimate terrainRuds FScene replacements texturesWill this combination work without problem. If I have this what more would Misty Fjords offer?I have some Megascenery and Megacity titles but one problem is that the areas are rather limited. But inside the area they look great and the bundled maps I really like and miss in other areas outside MS.

As far as regional scenery goes, I'm really moved by the Providence scenery from www.flightscenery.com. I'll bet that the Il De France is just as good. Imagine a photo texture overlaid with custom autogen- it really comes alive. I'm intimately familar with the area as I've flown out of PVD dozens of times in a lightplane. It helps that Stephane is brilliant at what he does- his background is 3d modelling.

Misty Fjords is another example of a "limited area" scenery, near Ketchikan on the Alaska SW coast. And as such it is "as good as it gets".If you want a taste, download any scenery from Avsim with author: Holger Sandmann.

What makes me hesitant is1) The rather high price (price for a good map should also be considere and maybe a suitable plane)2) The limited area it covers just like MegaScenery.

Even though it is a "limited" area, as you put it, you can ge beyond it and it's not like it is a black and white change, just not as realistic. If you have Ultimate Terrian added, then all of AK and Canada are done in similar style. One way to justufy the price is to consider all the amazing free designs Holger has given us, if you add them all up, Misty Fjords is a steal! The perfect scenery for me would be if the whole world was done by Flightscenery and georender, combining the Rhode Island scenery style with the feeling and dynamics (moving people and cars) of georender.Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/mcdcvabanner.jpgCalVirAir International

Add the US Landclass (crucial to your scenery with Mesh).Cut FScene (I didn't like their effect on my friend's scenery. It doesn't look like western US. Too... contrasty, too bright). Roads and Waters and you're done. Ultimate terrain would probably replace all of the above, not sure.

Try some of the Godzone New Zealand Sceneries by Robin Corn. If you like custom autogen over photos (and some wonderful Alpine scenery) you`ll love his stuff. Look for the freeware Wanaka for a taster..That Providence scenery sure looks good from the screenshots I`ve seen. Its not really an area that I fly in so I can`t quite justify the spend to the Mrs at the moment, but I was rich I`d get it asap..CheersRottenlungs

For me the PERFECT scenery is combination of those:1. BEV textures2. UT USA and UT Canada/Alaska3. FlyTampa airports and FlightSceneryMichael J.

Is there a reason why you listed both American Data and UT? I was under the impression that UT provides everything that AD does including streams and powerlines etc.I'm using BEV+FSGenesis landclass+UT+38m mesh. It's very, very far from perfect, but for large-scale scenery it's a huge improvement over default of course. I still buy most regional sceneries I can get my hands on. Megascenery and VFR USA are nice of course and still cover quite large areas. Sceneries like FlightZone, Georender and so on are much, much smaller but also more detailed.Switzerland Professional has just about everyting you could ask for except autogen and global coverage. The UK VFR scenery keeps getting better. Large areas have been covered with autogen by the http://www.vfraddons.co.uk/ people, the effect is similar to Rhode Island but over a much larger area.

I want to buy the Rhode Island scenery as it looks amazing, but it seems they haven't bothered to address the issues and continue to work on new products instead. Until they release a patch to fix the UT issues and start addressing outstanding issues first I will not purchase it.

>I want to buy the Rhode Island scenery as it looks amazing,>but it seems they haven't bothered to address the issuesI wonder who is supposed to address this issue: FlightScenery, UT or Microsoft itself?. Unfortunately with scenery design there is a lot of overlapping features and I would not be surprised to hear that certain things are simply impossible to do without Microsft first changing their software. And you may be specialized penalized if you want to push the envelope and deliver some stunning new features. It is like PMDG trying to deliver some innovative features in their aircraft and "braking" something else on the way.Michael J.

UT and Rhode Island works fine here. You need to turn off residential night lights are UT will kill most of the rhode island autogen, but that always happens with UT regardless of other sceneries used. I only turn them on if I know I'll be flying at night only.
