Windscreen shape, any update?

Featured Replies

Alright, I understand what you mean. I've sat in the cockpit of a B747-300 several times and the windows are indeed a lot smaller than you'd expect. Never noticed it in the PMDG, though.

Thanks for your reply!

With kind regards,

Kevin Schepers

I just want to maintain that there's a difference between an (informal) mail, and an actual statement from the team.

i can PM you the email?

Vernon Howells

Sorry the last time i did that it got deleted. Its all getting changed for sure!

Doesn't that give you a clue about the lack of certainty of a VC update happening? They might be working on a change, but if the HGS can't be made to work in a revised VC then it won't be released.

All I can say is people should be careful what they wish for. Smaller windows and a lower overhead panel might make it less pleasant to fly. Visual realism isn't everything.

Don't guess it makes much sense to post it. I will take it at your word.

How do you know this? I'm sure PMDG are going to make it very realistic and the best they can so just wait and see for the next update!

Like i said they are working on it and its going to change 100 guaranteed

I don't know that, but it will change things, for better or worse. Hence I said "be careful what you wish for". There's no certainty it will improve things.

With all due respect you aren't in a position to guarantee anything.

Which PMDG tech guy and what does he say?

Gerry Howard

Perhap's that because it wasn't true? After all, you have no evidence.

Enough, gents.

It's being looked at. That should suffice. Picking at each other gets nobody anywhere.

Gerrard i have 2 emails !

Kyle, can i have permission to post this email to silence gerrard please and prove my point?

Vernon Howells

All this has already been said and done the last time this thread was active.  Best left alone.  Suffice to say, for those like mgh stirring the pot by suggesting Driver170 made this up - he didn't.   He did receive an email from a member of PMDG Tech Support stating the intention to revise the cockpit front geometry.    However, as Kyle has elaborated, there are some dependencies to the work coming to fruition (the HGS functionality).  So it's best left alone    - if PMDG can deliver the change, they will.       If they cannot, they won't.
