After seeing the 1.2 version was just released today, I just bought it! Installed it... tried the light version on my aging but still good laptop (i7 3.2 - GE force 280M) etc.... and wow!!! Great frame rates as good as default... wooohoooo here I go now... and the sounds... yes yes!! finally I am excited... but sadly have no time to play, off the Flight Safety Level D recurrent sim school the next week.... so can't really play much with the Hawker, but I'll try it and report back as soon as I can! I look forward to this now...

I just found all my 850 training manuals in the attic so I can provide real numbers, real data etc to everyone... just be patient a couple of  weeks till I can dive into this bird.... but from my viewpoints using EZ dok Camera they did a good job on the virtual cockpit look and feel and pilot's view out the window... I can't stand watching youtube videos on this plane, everyone's point of view is down eyebrow level with the top of the panel as if a 7 year old was flying it! Why does no one use EZ Dok to do views properly, I just don't understand...

Valid note, please post your screenshots or youtube with the correct POV height.

Cheers,

Dirk.

Those little orange and white balls - aren't they for eyesight alignment?

Looking forward to your insight on this one, Peter!

I just installed Bert's GTN750 mods--- that's the only way I've been able to fly this thing......

Ill do screenshots of proper viewing angles when I can.... yes, the balls are for alignment... in the plane I fly I actually go a little higher up in the chair ... I like to see over the panel

I'd be more interested in r/w pilot's perception of the POV height, what one actually sees over the panel.

Dirk.

Well this is a positive post at least.  Can't wait for your inputs Peter.  I also bought it last night and played about twith the 'lite' version.

As usual, great visuals, and I love the way it taxis.  Some power to get it moving and it taxi's quite nicely at idle thrust without overspeeding or stopping.  Great!  I'm not sure what fuel load I was at though.  It's also a pleasure to fly manually.

However, I wasn't totally enjoying this 'flight deck' experience.  Maybe I'm too accustomed to the PMDG size aircraft.  I found the buttons, text on the visual displays etc very small - hard to read.  I didn't attempt any CDU/FMC inputs - basically just did circuits at Yakutat.

I want to like flying this and hoping that I will down the line.

I'd better go and get the update.

Those eye alignment balls were designed by ergonomics experts so that theoretically your eyeballs would be in the perfect geometric position from which to view the outside world. I generally adjust my seat so I'm the controls sit where my hands fall naturally, and then vertically so that I'm just looking down the coaming and forward fuselage. I find that the default viewpoints in the sim are often a bit low down, so I usually hit CTRL+ENTER till I can just see a bit of the nose coming into view, or am just looking along the top edge of the glare shield.

I've been told that for Cat II and III landings you want to be higher so you can look down at a more acute angle.

PS. I finally found a PDF version of the FMS-6000 Operator's Guide for the Hawker 8xx.

In hardcopy or publically available?

PDF - 12Mb.

That won't do much good though - the Carenado is a -3000 and it's not even modeled remotely accurate.
