July 16, 201510 yr This is to try an equivalent to Michaels (Mik75) Mountain flying series of screenshots. Although probably not exactly the same route and time, it's in the same area, the Sion area in Switzerland/Valais Canton. Yes, FS9 is old (but only slightly older than FSX) and inferior to the newest simulators regarding graphics/resolution, but still a nice looking and reliable sim. July 17, 201510 yr Thanks...That actually has better color than the other landclass editions simulations. Whats missing from landclass is: rock slides, mud slides debris fields, erosion channeling, streaming, precipitous inclines, rocky outcropping. HLJAMES
July 17, 201510 yr Excellent shots showcasing the potential of fS9. July 17, 201510 yr Very nice shots! Glad to see FS9 is still around and going strong! I had countless wonderful flights in this sim!
July 17, 201510 yr Author Gentlemen, many thanks for your comments! Yes, a photoscenery is unbeaten in accuracy and in showing landscape singularities. Just in this particular area, the Mattertal, one could see the huge Randa landslide from 1991. Unfortunately, the well known Switzerland Professional has - in its FS9 version - only summer season coverage. Some other developers show that fine phototerrain with sesaonal change can be done for FS9, too, with dense autogen and without looking too blurry. I think of LHSim sceneries and some Russian freeware airports. A huge disadvantage of FS9 is, however, the limitation of mesh resolution, especially in this mountanous area. However, I'm glad you like it. I enjoy my FS9 thanks to some people who have enhanced it massively, and I see still no reason to change towards a newer simulator. July 17, 201510 yr ... Yes, FS9 is old (but only slightly older than FSX) and inferior to the newest simulators regarding graphics/resolution, but still a nice looking and reliable sim. I agree 100%, Harald (although I use P3D 2.5) and your nice screenies prove it Any attempt to stretch fuel is guaranteed to increase headwinds My specs: AMD Radeon RX6700XT, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, 32GB RAM, 34" monitor, screen resolution: 2560x1080
July 17, 201510 yr Author Thanks Bernd and Nebojsa. ... and as features as FS9Evo and FE9G, who contribute to nowadays look of FS9, are still work in progress, there's still potential for an even better looking sim B) . Harald Geyer Gründer der Messerschmitt Freunde Dresden v. V.
July 17, 201510 yr Harald, great shots in fs9. I still use fs9 with fsx but I never could get my Dreamfleet A36 to install with W7 and the GNS. IMO the A36 was one of the best GA in FS9. July 17, 201510 yr Author Harald, great shots in fs9. Thanks Carl! Honestly spoken, I already had massive problems with the RealXP gauges under WinXP, so that I use the A36 without them since then: I replaced the gauge configuration by a vintage configuration by David Voogd, available under the file name "a36tradp.zip" in the file library. I did some changes to it so that 2D and virtual panel fit together (have a look at it at shot #4 above) and that the stock GPS of FS9 is used. Unfortunately, I could not get into contact with the author to get a permission for sharing my modification with the community; all my mails were never answered. Beside the compatibility with my Win7 system, I find that this traditional layout fits much better with a plane like the Bonanza. Probably I skipped the installation of the RXP stuff (gauges and trainer) already within the installation process. And one important thing - different from installing under WinXP, I had to deactivate my Antivirus software while installing the Bonanza. Since then this plane flies like a dream under Win7, too. (The one and only plane that ever failed to work under my Win7 system was the DF 727.) Perhaps you want to try it once again? Good luck! July 17, 201510 yr Thanks for the information on the A36. I did notice the GPS in the pic and was surprised that you were able to install a GPS. After several attempts I finally gave up trying to install the RXP realizing it would not install with a 64bit system. I will give it another try with the suggested file and see if I can get it to work. Really appreciate your suggestion. July 18, 201510 yr Author Thanks again mates. And Carl, I'd be really interested if you had luck with the traditional panel for the Bonanza. Harald Geyer Gründer der Messerschmitt Freunde Dresden v. V.
July 19, 201510 yr Harald I was not able to get the VC to work using the"a36tradp.zip" nor a GPS adddon.;howevr, I am able to use the 2d panel w/o VC I guess I am not smart enough to figure out how to add the stock GPS. All was not loss since the A36 can be used with 2d and no GPS. Will continue to work on a solution. regrads, Carl PC AMD Ryzen R7-5700G (8-Core) processor), AMD Radeon RX 6600 Graphics 8GB/ 2TB HD + 500GB SSD, 16GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM, Win11 _____________________________________________________________________________________
