July 29, 201510 yr Hi Guys, today I upgraded to Windows 10 and everything went well. But due to P3D I got a problem: everytime I start P3D I choose a plane and airport and start it. Plane and airport are loaded as usual, but a few seconds after everything is loaded, P3D crashes to desktop. Windows event manager shows: Name der fehlerhaften Anwendung: prepar3d.exe, Version: 2.5.12946.0, Zeitstempel: 0x555f2e54Name des fehlerhaften Moduls: menus.dll, Version: 2.5.12946.0, Zeitstempel: 0x555f2d41Ausnahmecode: 0xc0000005Fehleroffset: 0x000050e0ID des fehlerhaften Prozesses: 0x1bd4Startzeit der fehlerhaften Anwendung: 0x01d0ca3e104fa590Pfad der fehlerhaften Anwendung: C:\Program Files (x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\prepar3d.exe Anyone got a hint for me, what went wrong? Thank you in advance. Tris
July 29, 201510 yr Moderator Yes - P3D is not compatible with W10 - or W8 for that matter altho it will run on W8. I assume you made an OS image so you can revert back. Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160

July 29, 201510 yr Please see my earlier thread posted just hours ago. P3D works fine in Windows 10. Your P3D installation is inside the Program Files Directory. I would install it outside Program Files directory http://forum.avsim.net/topic/472395-windows-10-p3d25-with-nvidia-35362-sli/#entry3274829 How I Evaluate Third Party Sim Addon Developers Refined P3Dv5.0 HF2 Settings Part1 (has MaddogX) and older thread Part 2 (has PMDG 747)
July 29, 201510 yr Hi, I am using Windows 10 101240 and I have had no issues. Make sure you have the latest p3dv2.5. I have p3d on a separate ssd and not connected to program files. Good luck. Bob Morehead Bob M
July 29, 201510 yr Reload any addons you have as they may have got messed up I noticed this with one of my aircraft - reinstall aircraft all good again windows 10 is fine - if I were you and find that re-loading the culprit isint working - just re-install p3d fresh Also make sure you deleted your shaders folder As skywolf pointed out - should not be installed there - put it in main c:drive - hence a new install - use add remove programs (p3d) before doing that to free up license Rich Sennett
July 30, 201510 yr As posted in the other thread I did not have any issues with windows 10 and p3d.In fact it was better in comparison (as far as fps was concerned) to windows 7. Thanks,Pankaj Dekate
July 30, 201510 yr Author Unfortunately all hints and tips did not work with my rig. Therefore I downgraded back to Windows 8.1. Now everything works again. Thank you all for the help. Tris
