I just purchased Garmin GNS-530 and plan to implement it into the B-737.

 

Is there a possibility that it interferes with the B-737 ?

 

Has any body done this ?

Why in the world would you would want to when the FMC gives you everything you can get with the Garmin and more? Even if possible you would lose a massive amount of functionality, and also lose the benefit of easily updateable nav information.

Agree with the above; this is not a rare request, I've seen folks want the default GPS available in FMS equipped aircraft too.

 

The bottom line is that the FMS is a required element in the operation of this aircraft so you should plan on reading the introduction and flying the tutorials and asking questions until newness wears off. Have fun doing it.

I also wonder why you would want to do it, but why mock the guy? As long as he knows he won't get any support.
