Lost 20 fps with Reshade

Recommended Posts

I wanted to give Reshade a try, but when I installed it, P3D lost about 20FPS, so I deleted the changes I made and removed Reshade again, but I didnt get the 20FPS back.

What can I do to reset P3D to as it was before I installed Reshade and get my 20FPS back?

Cheers!

No offense Maarten but this is a prime example of why we need to be making backups of critical files before modification.  It seems that you may still have residual files from Reshade, causing the issues you have.  You could try deleting your p3D.cfg file and letting P3D re-create it, but I'm not sure if Reshade does any modifications to the cfg file.  Outside of a complete reinstall (or perhaps a repair) of P3D, I am all out of advice.  I would personally look into finding a forum specific to Reshade and posing your question there.  You may get quicker responses with more helpful answers.

Try deleting your shaders folder..P3D will rebuild it on startup.

I opened the original zip file to look at what files I installed and went to my P3D folder and deleted all of them and I was fine.  (I was getting crashes to black screen from which I could only reboot the computer.)

Good point Jorge.  I too have found that deleting the contents of that folder does help.  I usually know when it's time to delete the files when I fly over an area and all of the textures are out of place.  Weird I know, but after a good scrubbing, everything is fine.  I was told by a trusted friend here at AVSIM that keeping a shortcut to that folder on the desktop is both necessary and convenient when using P3D, which is a small price to pay for any future headaches.

Same thing with me. I was worried it was just me. I deleted and no more crashes.

I wonder what it was.  I have a GTX970 (not overclocked...my CPU is overclocked).  Could be the drivers or just overloaded the card.

I also use a 970 with an overclocked cpu. Well all systems react differently.

It's not the fault of reshade if you removed it's files and the problem persisted. Sorry.

dxgi.dll, located in the main dir. AFAIK it doesn't go when one deletes a preset, nor uninstall reshade..
