September 12, 201510 yr According to the jokers over at bbs their a320 is into the final stages of testing by their "New & Highly qualified team". I wonder what they mean by "new &highly qualified team".Sounds like one of their pranks.
September 12, 201510 yr Commercial Member Hopefully I'll get to download the 1.0 from my account by 2025.
September 12, 201510 yr Some of us that have gotten into flightsim in the last couple of years could probably use a thorough explanation of what eactly it is that these guys did... Greg Montey "Because with great power, comes great responsitriligence..."
September 12, 201510 yr Some of us that have gotten into flightsim in the last couple of years could probably use a thorough explanation of what eactly it is that these guys did... The BBS Airbus is like a Steam Early Access game which in all likelihood won't be finished in the next 10 years, if at all. And to think that these guys used to be PSS....
September 12, 201510 yr Holding my breath...... 'new and highly qualified team' must mean they added someone who can identify an aircraft two out of three times. DJ
September 12, 201510 yr When these guys used to be PSS, they brought to the world of simming what we could only dream of. I can recall they were way ahead of anyone (and even the developtment of a/c for FSX 2002, and 2004), on developing the big airliners. I had a tremendous experience with their Boeing 777-300 and 200.. Airbus 340, 330, 320, and 321, AND the Concorde. Of course, today (14 years later), there are better products. Just as in better processors and 'you-name-it' computer parts. However, it was an awsome experience be able to autoland an Airbus 340 or the 777-300. So when PMDG and the other guys had no clue it was even possible, PSS had already gone above and beyond of what was possible at that time. Today others brag about developing several a/c.. are you kidding me ? PSS did it first, even before the rest could even learn where to start. The sad part: They fell apart. Poor management, poor support, and poor recovery killed them to the point of non-existing. Sad but true. Today, they have tried to return. Actually, I believe it's just a 2 man team. Though they are doing all possible to recover, itis very likely they never will. Today their A340 and A320 are much better system wise; however, the graphics are not as good as say... Aerosoft or Quality Wings, ie. I fly their A340, and A330, and i enjoy it. But again, wished they fixed a couple of things and had better graphics- especially in VC. What others have to say? I could care very little if not, none. I persoanlly don't walk life by listening to 'complainers' or 'sensationalists.' I rather listen to well educated, honest folks, and try the product myself. I have tried it... I enjoy it just as much as I enjoy a PMDG or the Aerosoft A321. The guys arer doing the best they can (within their means), to support and bring the product up-to-date. Now, I understand some had a bad experience from the past PSS. That was unfortunate! However, I give these guys another chance and support them. I can guarantee anyone, if today we did not have those powerhouse (money, infrasture, knowledge, skills, and personel) such as Aerosoft, PMDG, FSL, and others, we would all be singing a different tune..... "BBS is the best or near the best we have." I tend to laugh at when I read some folks bashing and 'murdering' other developers only cause TODAY we have more advanced technology and better produts on a few developers. BBS is doing the best they can. They provide support day to day to all questions. They don't have all the resources as the other guys, so, it would be foolish in my part to try to compare them with powerhouses such as Aerosoft. Aerosoft is a true powerhouse in simming... They have the people, the skills, the money, the time, and the knowledge to develop pretty much anyhting they wish. But, I enjoy my BBS 340 just as much as I enjoy the a/c of those Mega developers.
September 12, 201510 yr I have a few points to talk about, relative more to the post just above mine. It is true that all of BBS today used to be part of PSS earlier, some went away while a few might have even trickled into popular developers that exist today. They did make some fantastic products for their time and perhaps even were at their prime but for them to claim (today) that they offer the 'very best in Airbus simulation' is a bit too far reaching, even for more publicly known and appreciated developers that do a better job than BBS. Second, and this is directly a response to the post above, to use your analogy in its entirety, 'I personally don't walk life by listening to complainers and sensationalists' is again a gross misrepresentation of the members here and elsewhere that do not agree with your judgement about a product. I will partially agree that there are some that would look at the history of a developer and make claims based on those impressions today but you can't simply negate them or the history by callously referring to the statement as a complaint. To further my point, your innate need to indirectly judge these people or their statements would direct you into someone that does exactly the opposite of what they state. Should you trust a product or developer that much, you shouldn't have the need to come here, see what others are saying - both positive or negative and then pass of a remark as if to say that you're the only saint here who knows what to appreciate and what to discard. I foolishly bought into the craze of BBS and did purchase (after eventually getting refunded) their A330/340 bundle only to convince them of it's flawed operation, the lack of a support portal (unless in an alternate universe you count Facebook as a viable means for customer support), the indirect judging of their customers as some cave-dwelling folk that couldn't differenciate between black or white, the grossly overpriced product itself and the poor promises they've made about the developement and its timeline. Now about quantifying their team alongside some of the other more well known developers then sure you've already biased the argument in your favor before even letting reach their opinion on the product in question. They shot themselves in the foot by claiming to offer the best today and that is what my opinion is based around. Don't promote yourself as a king when you barely hold the position of a jester. In conclusion, I think it's high time we stop mollycoddling these developers who often think far too highly of themselves than what the community would indicate. Let this product reach their supposed 'v1.0' and then we can re-open what this product is worth, if anything.
