Any word on Pilot's FS 2010 Mesh update for v3?

Featured Replies

I'd like to get my scenery mesh back in v3 but haven't seen any word on an update--and as far as I can tell, the current version won't install in v3.

If you already have it installed somewhere, you just need to point the scenery.cfg to that location. I use Pilots FS Global Ultimate and used this method effectively.

If it is installed already, just add all areas through scenery library add area button

Per the other posts, I think I've only ever installed FSGlobal once during the last year.

Hi Daniel, I have a question, FreeMesh and FTX Global Vector are working fine together?

Yeah! All of the testing was done using FTX Global Base and Vector, and its AEC function even helps eliminate airports pits and plateaus, although those cannot be 100% eliminated until P3D makes some major changes in how airports are presented e.g. currently 100% flat at the moment which is just unnecessary and bad.

I see, well it was just my curiosity since the manual says that fits much better with Global 2010 FTX, thank you for your answer Daniel.

Well, naturally ORBX and Pilots will want to market their products, and I think the manual was written well before FreeMeshX was even a thing.

I don't, but thanks for the link, interesting program that I didn't know about. Does it work with v3?

Makes sense, at this moment I'm using the Ultimate version, it's nice but the poor support from Pilots' software is something that I started to disappoint, I'll see if they make the installers for P3Dv3

Did you also run the PILOTS noflatten.exe that modifies the terrain.cfg? It is recommended in the manual of FS Global 2010. You need to adapt the path in the .ini file hinting to the new V3 terrain.cfg to make it work.

Chris
