What!

How can you use them?

Buy them, install them is a start.

Make sure you buy the FSX/FSX SE version, level-D is not a PMDG.

OK Thanks

I think You missunderstod me.

I know Level-D is not an PMDG.

Here it is

I have FSX se and PMDG Boeing 747-400/8i and MD 11 and Level-D

My question is - How do I convert then so I can fly them on FSX-SE.

Steen,

Full names - first and last - are required in your posts here.

The 744, 748, and MD11 are not Steam compatible. You might have some success in the FSX:SE forum, as I've heard some people have gotten it to work there.

Though not supported, the 747 and MD-11 will work perfectly well in a FSX-SE single install. As long as FSX-SE looks like FSX disk to the installer it will work without any modifications.

There are threads about doing this in the 747 and MD-11 forums.

Hi, Steen,

For the Level D, take a look at this thread on the Level D web site Support Forum.  You may have to log into their forum first.

So the MD-11 does not work with FSX:STEAM? Shame was gonna buy it today.

So the MD-11 does not work with FSX:STEAM? Shame was gonna buy it today.

If it is installed on a computer that ONLY has FSX-SE - not both original FSX and FSX-SE - then the MD-11 will install and run just fine in Steam Edition. There is nothing about the Steam Edition itself that is incompatible with the MD-11 in any way.

When FSX-SE is the ONLY sim on your computer, it installs with registry entries and folder names that are identical to original FSX, and older add-ons like the MD-11 won't know the difference.

The problem is when you already have FSX, and then install FSX-SE. In this case, Steam Edition installs itself with registry and folder names that are different than original FSX. If you run the MD-11 installer, it will not "see" your Steam Edition - it will only recognize your original FSX.

Ok thanks Jim. I only have FSX:SE installed so should work will let you know :)

I had installed the MD-11 on a dual install, and it worked fine. The only issue I had was the load manager, and there is a fix for that in that forum.
