  • 4K is a game changer...much of the sorta settled discussion from as recently as 6 months ago was all related to 1080p TVs.  I just replaced the Dell U3011 (30 inch 2560x1600) I was using for side-by-s

  • Bobs right. Be careful when spending many hours viewing a slightly unsharp image which can allow the eyes to relax and focus closer to infinity, which can become part of the cause of short sightedness

  • Hi mokeiko,   Key facts: Core i7 6700k @4,5 GHz + Asus Strix 970 GTX. Guess the rest of the system is not extremely relevant regarding the P3D performance   Yes, I am using Display Port 1.2 and ru

Swiesma and Bob,

You guys are making it so hard to resist 4k. I am on the fence with getting G-Sync as well but I'm not sure if it will work with FSX/P3d. I'm watching and reading a lot of reviews and it seems technology is moving so fast that peripherals are getting outdated the minute you purchase something. I am also contemplating SLI with the 980Ti as well but not sure if it will be worth it, but my mouse pointer is on the "add to basket" as I type, lol.

This hobby just gets better and better, the immersion factor is just so overwhelming. Thank you for your feedback.

Oh, the girlfriend/wife thing. I can totally relate.

Let me know what you do, as I am holding off the buy button on a 980ti with a G-sync 34" 4k monitor! total cost a staggering £1500! To use with x-plane/prepar3d 3.0

I have just upgraded from a Samsing 32 inch 1440p monitor to a Phillips 40 inch 4K.  Frankly as an upgrade It wouldn't make much sense with the 40 inch 4K only a minor improvement over the 32 inch 1440p but another monitor was needed elsewhere in the household so I decided to move into the 4K world.  I was concerned that my nvidia 770 4gb gpu wouldn't cope but for the most part it does just fine if I reduce the resolution marginally to 3840x1836 with the side benefit of getting a wider view than full 4K.  Investing in an upgraded gpu that might cope better with 4K will have to wait but even then I am not sure what I would get for the further 800 - 1000 AUD investment.

I went with another 980Ti (arriving Monday) and will just stay with my 2560 x 1440 for now. I will use SLI for other games so it will help a little.

I figured as much. I think the 980's are underpowered for 4k right now. Pascal might change that but that will be a year from now maybe. I really want great performance as well as a visual experience for FSX/P3d. But G-Sync could change that, I will have to wait for more user experiences with that technology.

Thanks for the feedback guys.
