November 28, 201510 yr I guess if everyone stopped visiting the FTX forums, they would soon change their tune  Christopher Low AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU / 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM / 12GB Nvidia RTX 4070 Super GPU / Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite Wifi 7 / 1+2TB Samsung Evo Plus M2 Nvme UK2000 Beta Tester
November 28, 201510 yr Moderator Gutted that I went and bought 2 regions for P3D v3 on Monday and now they have a sale :(
November 28, 201510 yr Well Tony, I was thinking of buying ORBX Norway for a long time and stopped on more than one ocasion, took advantage of it yesterdayso I guess it's just plain luck sometimes. Looking forward to ESSA Jude BradleyBeech Baron: Uh, Tower, verify you want me to taxi in front of the 747?ATC: Yeah, it's OK. He's not hungry. November 29, 201510 yr I have just been over to the FTX forums, and they are basically forcing everyone to access a new release page to stop it being displayed over and over again. Two complaint threads about this have been closed, and apparently this method is here to stay....for every new release. No further complaints will be tolerated  Is this kind of marketing really necessary? Not quite sure what you are complaining about? There is the usual locked release announcement and a link to the Flightsim Store. Been like that for years or am I missing something? gb. The attitude displayed in the response to the complaints is one of the reasons I only visit Orbx forums once in a blue moon, and even more rarely from now on. "...we want [...] you will get used to it..." Unbelievable. How much does a business have to hate its own customers to treat them with such contempt? If only there was another way to let people know about new releases. Something along the lines of...oh...advertising, maybe? Well offering even their latest releases like Rohnerville and Welshpool at 33% off sounds like pretty good advertising to me. gb. YSSY. November 29, 201510 yr A window appears when you access the forum that can't be removed. You have to access the new release page before you are allowed to go elsewhere on the site. Not a big deal, but still annoying. November 29, 201510 yr A window appears when you access the forum that can't be removed. You have to access the new release page before you are allowed to go elsewhere on the site. Not a big deal, but still annoying. More than just annoying when the title of the release flashes up repeatedly, but the rest of the window doesn't, as happened with me, leaving me unable to either proceed to the release page, or access anywhere else in the forum. In the end, I had to use a different browser. (You know you've fallen down a funny rabbit-hole when IE comes to your rescue...)
November 29, 201510 yr Also found that I literally can't proceed to their forums because the release notice flashes endlessly and I can never get past it. Their attitude to their customers is genuinely mystifying. They're lucky their products continue to be so strong, because it's sure not their excellent customer service that's made them successful... November 30, 201510 yr A window appears when you access the forum that can't be removed. You have to access the new release page before you are allowed to go elsewhere on the site. Not a big deal, but still annoying. Hmmm.. I'm just not seeing this. With Firefox and my forum registration recognised I'm seeing no pop-up window. Are you going there as a Guest? gb. YSSY. November 30, 201510 yr Use a Laptop to "surf" myself. Very rarely restart, use the Hibernation facility. Only saw this Sales Window on the first visit with IE, after its placement, it has not re-occurred. Though perhaps it might after a full reboot. Guess I will find out after the second Tuesday of December, following the monthly install of Windows Updates (W7). Arnie....if it ain't broke, don't fix it...

James I don't know what you people are seeing (or if you're on something... ) but I have been there constantly, and I have *NEVER* seen anything even remotely like that (much less that I can't "go anywhere" without clicking it...)

December 5, 201510 yr It sounds like the same hokey complaints that DTG was getting on the Steam forum. December 5, 201510 yr I can log in normally too..now. But the issue was definitely there, and incomplete page flashing up and no way to get past it short of killing the browser. Not imagined at all, no matter what the faithful might prefer to believe. I guess we'll see how it behaves when the next release announcement pops up.
December 5, 201510 yr To be clear: while, yes, it is definitely tacky to force people visiting your forums to click through an ad for your product, that is NOT what I and others were complaining about. Glad it's fixed now, but it was a problem before. James
