September 2, 200520 yr How is it. I am seriously considering it, but the "VERY" bad FPS I have read about is hampering me. How bad is it?My system is:p4 3.0ghz1.5gb pc3200 ram256mb geforce 6800I run the PMDG 747 at 30 fps at some, and about 20-25fps at large airports.Thank you! Image Coming... KregE | B757/767 FO
September 2, 200520 yr I have been flying this exclusively since release, and it was only when I visited their forum I was even aware of the problem. Solution: Don't look at the frame rate counter! Yes, there is a fair old performance hit, but when you look at the complexity of the panel environment, it's understandable and Eaglesoft have an excellent track record of supporting customers. Some customers have complained of a stuttering problem, which is probably of more significancne in the enjoyment stakes, but it doesn't affect many - and being honest, it seems to affect those with the highest performing rigs so your mid-range system (by the standards of today) might be the best compromise.Buy it now or buy it later. At least if you buy it now you can be flying it now! You have the 30 day money back guarantee anyway.Allcott
September 2, 200520 yr It's a piece of art with these fascinating Avidyne instruments! I am very happy that i bought it.And yes, i have problems with stuttering as well. But i am pretty sure that this will be sorted out, as Eaeglesoft is aware of the problem and is working on it.Cheers,Michael
September 2, 200520 yr It's really very nice but I found the full version a bit heavy on the frames. I get about 30 FPS and some stutters looking straight forward with 0.75x zoom vs 40-45 FPS and no stutters with the DF Bonanza. I also found the displays a bit dark and hard to read, especially in the VC. But, I still think it's an excellent addon. -
September 2, 200520 yr If the dislays are dark you can just increase the brightness! The adjustment is built-in.Allcott
September 2, 200520 yr Some aircrafts are just eye candy and some are functionally solid and eye candy. And the new Avidyne MFD and PFD guages are spectacular. as good as Project Majenta's CRJ type PFD , MFD guages. This is an absolute must have. this is the future of GA anyway. Its nice to have a sim aircraft that you can fly around that actually helps you immensly in real world flying as well.Eaglesoft has done an amazing job. I am sure.. they will work on the minor irritants. Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
September 2, 200520 yr Author >Sorry but they are already at full brightness..As in ALL FS aircraft, VC gauge brightness in daytime is less than what we all consider ideal....you can however turn on the cabin lighting which helps a bit. Also, as in other FS aircraft, the direction of flight in relation to the sun makes a difference in VC gauge lighting appearance.:-)
September 2, 200520 yr Moderator >Sorry but they are already at full brightness..If you replace one of the "overhead floods" with a "white .fx" instead of red, you can take advantage of the two levels of overhead lighting:light.4=9, -0.0, 0, 1.7 , esSR20_panelflood.fx // tied to Overhead switchlight.5=10, 0.0, 0, 1.7 , fx_vclightwhi.fx // tied to Overhead switchThis will allow the knob to respond:OFFNIGHT (red)DAY (white) Fr. September 2, 200520 yr Bill,That might be exactly what I need. I too have felt the VC was way too dark, but I did not like the red coloring for daytime flying. I can't wait to try this one out.Tony=http://www.flightsim-bevs.com]

September 3, 200520 yr An interesting piece of work...some real potential here. Great innovation with the CAPS ballistic chute recovery system. That said, I can't run it in a stable manner above 15 fps on a well-oiled 3.06 GHz P4 with a gig of fast RAM and a 256MB nVidia 6800 Ultra. (same rig gets 25 fps stable with the PMDG 744 for example) Lots of stutters...slide show city at FS default airports even with frames locked at 15 fps. Takes 2-3 min to load at FS startup. Not ready for prime time yet, but could be a winner if they can streamline the gauge code.I'm hoping for some progress in the next 29 days. In its current state, I'll probably have to ask for a refund.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile Bob Scott | President and CEO, AVSIM Inc ATP Gulfstream II-III-IV-V Sys1 (MSFS20+24/XPlane12+11): AMD 9800X3D, water 2x240mm, MSI MPG X670E Carbon, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, nVidia RTX4090FE Alienware AW3821DW 38" 21:9 GSync, 2x4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2x2TB Samsung 990 SSD, EVGA 1000P2 PSU, 12.9" iPad Pro Thrustmaster TCA Boeing Yoke, TCA Airbus Sidestick, Twin TCA Airbus Throttle quads, PFC Cirrus Pedals, Coolermaster HAF932 case Sys2 (P3Dv5/v4): i9-13900KS, water 2x360mm, ASUS Z790 Hero, 32GB GSkill 7800MHz CAS36, ASUS RTX4090 Samsung 55" JS8500 4K TV@60Hz, 3x 2TB WD SN850X 1x 4TB Crucial P3 M.2 NVME SSD, EVGA 1600T2 PSU Fiber link to Yamaha RX-V467 Home Theater Receiver, Polk/Klipsch 6" bookshelf speakers, Polk 12" subwoofer, 12.9" iPad Pro PFC yoke/throttle quad/pedals with custom Hall sensor retrofit, Thermaltake View 71 case, Stream Deck XL button box Sys3 (DCS/P3Dv4/ATS/ETS): AMD 7800X3D, MSI MPG X870E Carbon, Noctua NH-D15S, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, EVGA RTX3090 Alienware AW3420DW 34" 21:9 GSync, Corsair HX1000i PSU, 4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2TB Samsung 970Evo Plus, TM TCA Officer Pack, Saitek combat pedals, TM Warthog, TM RS300 FF wheel/pedals, Coolermaster HAF XB case
