I've got a question / issue. The HSI is dark / nothing but a black face in the VC. Works great in the 2D.What have I failed to configure correctly?

I have the dark HSI in the VC as well. Again, it may be something on my end. So far I am very impressed. The sounds are nice, and very distinctive. Beautifully done, inside and out. Great VC, and the gages are all pretty fluid. I like the ability to add my Reality XP 530 through the configuration program. I'm going to enjoy this plane.Tony=http://www.flightsim-bevs.com]BEVBetaSig.jpg

Thanks for the heads up! Of course this may be the right excuse to pick up the Reality XP Sandel!Tony=http://www.flightsim-bevs.com]BEVBetaSig.jpg

Anyway to brighten the VC up? I know it is a limitation of FS9 that VC's are darker, but some designers have compensated for it. It is brighter than many I have seen already. But some, like the PMDG 1900C, for instance, light up the whole cockpit when you turn on the overhead lights. Realistic? Well, it just overcomes the FS9 limitation. :) I have played with the Panel and Flood knobs, but it still is not bright enough for my tastes. Tony=http://www.flightsim-bevs.com]BEVBetaSig.jpg

Tony, I'm not sure how to do that, but if you'll post your question in the FSD support forum, Tim or someone else from the crew would be happy to illuminate you. They seem to have inexhaustible patience with law abiding customers.:>

Thanks for the info. I picked it up late last night, took it for a quick spin before bed and confirmed that the instrument refresh rate is much improved over previous FSD releases. Looking forward to putting this one through its paces.

Thanks for the information. I just sent a e-mail to FSD to see if the policy has really been changed. I sure hope so. That would let me get the Commander back in the air and I'd love to buy the 337.Doug

Doug, I think it must have. I reinstalled the 337 as part of troubleshooting a hangup in FS (it doesn't have anything to do with the 337, in case anyone asks) and it didn't even prompt for a licence or go online for revalidation. The system is about as simple as the Flight 1 wrapper, but with the benefit that after the licence code and password is allocated and confirmed online the first time, I don't think it needs to verify online again. You may need to get a new link for the Commander to download again using the newer wrapper though.I recently also reinstalled the PC6 Porter after using their revalidatio system and it was so simple, I don't even recall the details. About as transparent as it gets! Allcott

As I can't delete the above post I'm adding this public apology to Steve Small. Sometimes communications failures happen and cause good people to do dumb things. This was one of those times. Had I thought about things a bit more I never would have posted this in the first place. Steve and I have exchanged a couple of e-mails and the situation is resolved. In fact, there never was a "situation" in the first place, just a lack of communication between two folks on opposite sides of the world. Steve has shown himself to be a real gentleman and I wanted you all to know it.Doug

I've had my share of problems during a period when I needed to reinstall several times. However the FSD staff were quick to resolve the issue.I have their Panther, Seneca and Porter. I'll probably wait a while before I get the 337 (maybe two days :-lol ) because I just recently got both the Eaglesoft Cirrus and the JF Flying Club.
