October 15, 200520 yr >I have a friend of a friend who I spoke to through my cousin>on EchoLink and he told me without a doubt it'll be out by>December of this year!! Nah...MS always makes an annoucement, shows screen shots on a web site they set up. Face it,they don't have any competition in the GA/Commercial FS arena, there's no need to keep it totally under wraps and then just drop it on the paying public. Best Buy??--ROFLOL,those guys can't even tell you when they'll actually have a copy of a new flight sim on the shelves after its been officially realeased, let alone have some "secret" MS info. I bought COF at a Office Max that had it in stock at least a WEEK before Best Buy did,in fact they had it for sale before anyone else in town. When FS10 finally hits the shelves try looking a an office supply store first, you might be surprised.David
October 15, 200520 yr >I know it is the age old question but it seems to have gone>very quiet on this front.>>Anyone got any news as to if and when we are likely to see>FS10>Wouldn't it be better to ask when we will see computers that can run it? I have read here that at the time of FS10 release the computers available at that time will not be powerfull enough.
October 15, 200520 yr They are, indeed, pictures of the real thing. My attempt at a little humor has failed....:-) .Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. October 15, 200520 yr >>>I seem to remember reading that FS10 could be around by next>>Summer. If that is the case then we may hear something>around>>February/March time.>>Thats possible, they've done a few summer releases like FS 5.1>and COF but they've done more fall release's. Marketing>probably telling them that summer isn't the best time for a>release such as a flight sim,too much going on outside.>>David>Just remembered where I read it. Justflight news back in May"Almost from the horse's mouth, we met with those that know in LA at E3 and it is now clear that Microsoft plan the next release of their de-facto Flight Simulator during the summer of 2006. So no panic please, a new version is not about to launch - which gives all flight sim fans plenty of time to enjoy the latest incarnation (FS2004) before the new version ships. Fear not, we will keep you all informed as to the developments of the new version, as and when Microsoft actually make their intentions clear"
October 15, 200520 yr "I have read here that at the time of FS10 release the computers available at that time will not be powerfull enough."It has always been like that. That's how it was when FS98 launched, FS2000 (!!!), FS2002, FS2004...However, by now computers are more than powerful enough for FS2004 which is definitely getting a little long in the tooth. So I think it's time to "raise the bar" for graphics, AI, flight models etc. -
October 15, 200520 yr >I hope there will be a version for the X-Box 360!*yawn* will never happen... thank god.
October 15, 200520 yr My prediction is that it will coincide with the "For Sale" version ofWindows XP Professional x64 just to also help give that product a kick-start. It will of course also work on older operating systems. Bob (Lecanto, Fl)
October 15, 200520 yr Hi Guy's.well, yes, it's more or less Summertime next year, and there will be a 32bit version and a 64bit version as well. the customers can then make up their own mind on weather or not to go 64bit. this is hopefully going to be close to the release of Longhorn / Avalon.

October 15, 200520 yr It's going to be interesting when the release is announced. Why?Because, I almost gair-un-tee that it will be linked to on Avsim Forums within 1 minute of it's posting on MSFS site, and their servers will be swamped within the first half-hour. Not saying they won't support the traffic, but it will be alot I bet.If one of the FS team developers is reading this: When the official announcement comes, could you post some data on the number of hits within the first couple of hours after the news goes public? That will be interesting.-Jeremy BurchThe Ozark DogfighterHappy Flying!Pilot-The friction locks are causing the throttle levers to stick.Mechanic- Umm, that's what they're there for...
