May 29, 201610 yr Moderator Everyone seems to be missing the point though that non-P3D stuff is not "deleted" at all. It will remain intact for later use. Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
May 29, 201610 yr Moderator And there is your answer - even if you DO uninstall and reinstall - your 3rd party stuff will remain. As long as you reinstall P3D in the same folder, you should be just fine. IIRC, I did have to reinstall some ORBX stuff to get the files linked up roperly, but other scenery and al my aircraft were just fine. May 29, 201610 yr Huh, so "non-P3D" stuff that is installed inside the P3D folder will not be "deleted" when you uninstall P3D....? The only addons that will need re installing is stuff that modifies the default files, things like FTX Global, FTX Vector etc.
May 30, 201610 yr Author I guess I will know in the next 5 minutes. The thought of having to do all of this crap all over again next month was weighing over me and besides I want to keep putting more scenery and crap in. sooooo.. I bit the bullet and bought the academic license and installing it. I'll let you know what happens. I have lots of time, and this way I can load it up with all my favorite scenery and then be done and not worry about it anymore. Ciao!
May 30, 201610 yr Author Wow! GOOD NEWS I didn't have to MODIFY OR DO ANYTHING! I had to uninstall p3d version that I had. I did that through uninstall manager then installed the new version started it up and EVERYTHING WORKED I didn't have to copy my old files over or anything. So there is my answer! Ciao!

May 30, 201610 yr Moderator Someone should change the title of the thread from prescription to subscription, lol. Unless of course you can get your Dr to prescribe P3D, lol. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
