August 19, 20169 yr Author My pleasure guys. I see the FSXers are still wondering why they are not getting any AI landing and departing. Questions are being posted on the DD forum as to why and why the afcad will not compile with ADE etc etc. Do you think they are getting any answers?....of course not. DD .......great to have FS9 support. But there is something about this company that leaves a nasty taste in your mouth. Still they do not leave me any where near as frustrated at AES does...as I cannot fix that! It should have every tow truck, catering truck, fuel truck etc in the world and the ability to select which one by now!!!! AES should be open source Aaaaarrrrrgh! My FS Videos
August 19, 20169 yr +1 DD, +1 AES. I've been a loyal Drzewiecki Design customer since its beginnings. And I've bought umpteen of their products for FS9, FSX, P3D, and X-plane when available. DD's support of FS9 is very welcome but its attitude to valid customer comments, in particular Baku's dysfunctional afcad leaves a lot to be desired. I'll not be buying any more DD sceneries until those guys change their tune. AES seems like just a money machine. I regret getting into it but I've invested so much that I'm trapped! John

August 21, 20169 yr Author First test... Failed I'll explain ....if I can. The Rwy 36 SAGIL 1D arrival is an out of date approach. Baku 2017 has updated the runway numbers. Rwy 36 is now Rwy 35 I am not trying to be holier than thou, this is FS you can do what ever you like and use charts from any date. Jus' saying' my Afcad has the latest approaches and latest STARS (which do not include the SAGIL 1D) Note: DD's Afcad had NO approaches (that worked anyway) and NO STAR's ....plus the business of removing the stock airport is a no no and unnessecary. I'm guessing you do not use FSATC (it's a free world). If you did you would have been offered Rwy 34 arriving from the west. To arrive at Rwy 35 you would have had to tell FSATC you want 35 instead of 34, then ask for an ILS approach for rwy 35 with a KARAD transition. KARAD being the IF of the ILS so you could still fly old STAR's like the SAGIL 1D because I added the IF's of all the ILS approaches as transitions as well. In fact I use the ILS approach IF's (Initial Fix) as my transitions all the time because FSATC will tell you to descend to the correct altitude before being established on the ILS. For example using the SAGIL 1D, SAGIL as your transition. FSATC would tell you to descent to 9000ft until established which is correct that you should arrive at SAGIL at 9000ft but not until established as you should then descend to 2000ft to intercept the glideslope. So the options are: 1. The above solution. 2. Write the transition alt at SAGIL to be 2000ft ( FSATC will then correctly advise you to descend to 2000ft before glideslope but will have think you are arriving at SAGIL at 2000ft so will have asked for you to descend from cruise a bit earlier....maybe not a bad thing lol) 3. Still add the SAGIL 1D to your flight plan but use the IF of your ILS (last waypoint of your STAR) as the transition. (this way everybody is happy...FSATC will get your TOD pretty much correct, if you are not flying a LNAV equipped aircraft like the IFLY 737 you have to work out your descent rate to arrive at SAGIL at 9000ft (a good exercise). FSATC will give you a nice no nagging ride in and finally instruct you to descend to G/S interception alt and report when established. My FS Videos
August 21, 20169 yr Oh! As visible, I use FSC for planning. In the case of Tbilisi, the FSC database was taken out of the new afcad file. In the case of Baku, there seems to be a mess between old and new ones now. Or I have some duplicate afcad. Will have to check. Harald Geyer Gründer der Messerschmitt Freunde Dresden v. V.
August 21, 20169 yr DD .......great to have FS9 support. But there is something about this company that leaves a nasty taste in your mouth. Speaking of that ....... have they released the FS9 New York yet? I've had quite a long nap and I'm thinking I might have missed it!
August 21, 20169 yr have they released the FS9 New York yet? No, not yet. And frankly spoken, my hope for this product is small. From DD's forum: (http://drzewiecki-design.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=9231#9231) "Converting that product into FS9 generates a lot of issues and the city itself look quite worse than in the FSX/P3D version. I am not sure if it would be a good idea to publish it in that state so yes, there is a possibility that it won't be published at all. Anyway we are still fixing some issues with airports for P3Dv3 compatibility so as soon as that is done I will make a dicision regarding the FS9 release. There are very few FS9 customers now left, especially in America. Working for three months on something that will not look amazing and will be sold in 30 copies isn't something I want to do. " Everybody now can think about this... But back to Baku, I slowly get behind what happend there with my flight. Probably I was on error regarding FS Commander's database. I always thought it would be generated from the simulator's database. But obviously, it takes some more data from Navigraph. This said, I see a mixture of versions with old STARs and new ILSs. And the fact that I didn't have this problem at Tbilisi was in fact caused rather randomly than systemic. No wonder that I wondered when FSATC - that indeed I use - gave me the option for Rwy 35... I am not trying to be holier than thou You are, Ed. As I tried to describe, I was the culprit for my own Navdata mess. Correcting now, will then repeat the flight - is always a joy to fly around the Caucasus. Edit: Looks better now, doesn't it? Harald Geyer Gründer der Messerschmitt Freunde Dresden v. V.
August 21, 20169 yr Author Looks better now, doesn't it? Perfect Harald. I will be flying the same approach in my next video. My FS Videos
August 22, 20169 yr Nice photo, nice sim apron - any minute we'll be seeing Real vs Sim shots! Is that a Be-200 I see? Now here's something begging for a repaint:
August 24, 20169 yr Author Now here's something begging for a repaint: I sent the owner of the photograph an email......and he sent me back a 5280 x 3520 res original copy. So if you are patient a photoreal paint may materialise. My FS Videos
August 24, 20169 yr Great stuff... if you are patient Patience is my middle name, and that certainly would be worth waiting for!
August 26, 20169 yr Author Here is a video of my flight to Baku from Chisinau. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gGpuBafNu7A My FS Videos
