June 12, 20169 yr You're right, but it's still much better than default P3D/FSX nights. "Society has become so fake that the truth actually bothers people".
June 13, 20169 yr You're right, but it's still much better than default P3D/FSX nights. Can't argue with that. Outside the fact, that P3D/FSX does have moon ambient, the night lighting system is abysmal. June 13, 20169 yr No, it's not. Yes, when no moon is out, no light sources anywhere close, it's like that. When over a city, the moon is out, you should have a ton of light pollution, lighting up the entire sky. The moon should give a nice ambient glow -- At times, the ambient light from the moon can make nights really bright in real-life. XP doesn't render any of that, so it's pitch black constantly, always. You will never be able to see your plane at night, windows and external lights, that's about it. Unless your flying really close to the ground. 4790K @4.9GHz, 32GB DDR3, 1080Ti, W10-64bit

Maybe look past the argument about the plane. The game has no ambient lights, no light pollution, nothing. June 13, 20169 yr I just hope we stop seeimg the Moon accross an overcast layer, or through the horizon. Also, Moon phases in X-Plane, together with their proper ephemeris are completely out of sync with RW, so, no point in planning your night vfr flights based on that..... But night lighting is completely AMAZING in X-Plane compared to P3dv3... And an approach at night when just like irl you "get lost" about where your runway is, just like irl, is only possible in X-Plane 10... June 13, 20169 yr I would avoid Flight Factor to be honest. I bought the 767 and I am very disappointed with it, not only that, but Flight Factor have a tendency of charging in excess of $5 per livery for the aircraft. Don't give PMDG's newly released DC-6 a miss! Its a 'MUST' buy for X-Plane. Well lets be honest here. the 5$ per livery thing is mainly because the .org shop does not allow for cheaper items thats why you get bundles. Plus i never bought any livery there because you can get almost every livery imaginable for free in the download section of the .org. also very dissapointed is a little bit weak. Currently i think it is the best 767 package that is available for all sims. its no pmdg but it is very solid Thanks. It's really hard to find a decent airliner for X-Plane I guess :-/ I love PMDG - but I am not interested in "old" planes. :-) its not as bad as that. It is a very solid plane, imho it is like a aerosoft airbus x deal. not everything perfectly simulated but stable, enjoyable and you can get online flights done without getting frustrated. It is certainly the best plane from Flightfactor. No, it's not. Yes, when no moon is out, no light sources anywhere close, it's like that. June 13, 20169 yr Author Are you talking about the Flightfactor A350? I think it is an ok plane based on youtube Videos. But I would really miss SIDs and STARs I guess.

I love the NL in XP too - with one caveat - runways stick out like sore thumbs - especially when the rest of the city lights aren't loaded. Runway lights aren't omni-directional , and it should be tough to see runway edge lighting from anywhere but almost straight on. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
