Aerofly FS 2: Update thread

Featured Replies

I think they are aware already of the misplaced trees. They haven apparently been placed automatically using a not too precise database. In NY the trees are all over the place, covering houses, roads, etc., even in the detailed part of the inner city. JV said everything needs a second round with a manual touch (my rephrasing ;) ). I know JV is not a dev of Aerofly but I do think he has a pretty good contact with the devs.

Unfortunately one of the most advanced and promising projects for modelling a glider in X-Plane 10 was probably abandoned by it's author due to the limitations of X-Plane's flight dynamics modelling, and the guy did know aerodynamics and did use true data and Airfoil Maker to keep the model as close to real as possible... )

Using true data is not the right way to make an aircraft as close to real as possible in X-Plane (indeed, it's probably not the right way for _any_ flight simulator).  In any case, if IXEG (admittedly using a plugin) could do their B737 as close to possible to the real one (from what I know, even more than what PMDG does), it would be possible to do the same for a glider.

The "rear side" view in the Learjet 45 is very restricted at the moment. Is there any way to move my seat position forward?

Thanks. I realised that I needed to assign these in the Controls section. I may have accidentally deleted the presets, so I have selected other keys to do the job

Z, isn't that for zooming?

I think moving around are different commands. Just check the control settings, and you'll find it.

Correct. Z and Shift-Z also zoom in and out of the scenery outside. Probably not what you'd want. If I remember correctly you have to assign keys for changing your position: there aren't any assigned by default.

I have changed the zoom keys to "+" and "-", and the move seat forward/backward keys to "Home" and "End" (since the move seat up/down keys are "Page Up" and "Page Down").

Can someone load an aircraft at the runway 03 threshold at Sussex (New York area) and tell me if they see an "anomaly" just above the trees directly ahead? It seems to be a line of green texture that is hanging in the sky (this can be confirmed by flying towards it).

Looks fine, on my end. Nicely detailed airport, sadly low resolution textures.

I've seen the green texture - "that is hanging in the sky" - several places.

Reported to IPACS
