XP11 Cleared To Land

@france89: which addon you would recommend for 737 here? TBH default 737 system depth as far as I saw on youtube beta videos and I know nothing about Xplane addons. I don't think there is any that can actually match PMDG including failure modeling, but again - no knowledge here so its just assumptions :)

There are some really good, study level addon planes.

But I think users have to decide how pedantic they want to be (I don't mean that offensively) compared to the pros that XP brings over P3D. There may be a few missing system details in some addons, but does that outweigh the very large graphical leaps XP gives you? Or what is a very good, natural feeling flight model? How often do you use the systems PMDG may model but the IXEG doesn't? All questions to ask yourself.

What I've found with P3D users (of which I'm one and was a pretty hardcore one until recently) is that we can be lopsidedly judgemental, looking past P3D's myriad of flaws while not properly weighing XP's pros against them. There are still plenty of people who refuse to even try something different because "PMDG!!" There's more to flight simming than PMDG (who are developing for XP though).

All right. I'll not jump into Xplane 11 especially considering the fact that 2017 will be flight simming revolution and Xplane will get its 64 bit competiition. When I'll see what Lockheed will have to offert (and I think they have enough money to build something great there) I'll make my decision. For now I will admire your shots and watch at my sim which with PTA 2.0 and 1,5K bucks of addons looks quite decent :D

1,500$ Yes no what you mean no more throwing money at P3D

And imo if P3D 64bit still looks like it does now but stable all set with that - buying all those addons or update fees and doesnt match or surpass XP visuals - no thank you

Agreed, they can't just move to 64 bit and leave it as it is because it won't fly. But I believe they will bring in something fresh, whatever it might be.

I'm glad that PMDG won't charge for 64 bit versions, that's promising because at least I have aircrafts ready :) Anyway - 2017 will be interesting and I think we should celebrate it.

P.S. Xplane 11 really looks GOOD. Maybe I'll just fly 2 sims (one for 737 classic and one for NG ;) )

Sounds like a plan - personally I  just dont have the time nor money to support two sims - time being the big one

I live 40 minutes south of Boston (on a good day) it use to take me 1-1/2 hours drive every morning/evening without the HOV lane when I was consulting for the 4th tallest building in Boston, but these days my daily commute can be around 2,100NM/510mph/320FL/ but without the bumper to bumper southeast expressway traffic.

One of the devs of IXEG is a real world pilot on the 737-300.

I think he "upgraded" to an airbus now  :Tounge:  But it certainly shows that a real pilot that loves the 733 had a hand in the development.

"it surpasses the NGX in many other ways"

such as? I am really curious as some RW airline pilots stated in their comments on few forums that  PMDG is currently closest you can get to 737 sim without spending few million dollars

P.S. as we are derailing from XPlane screenshots a bit, I would really appreciate if you could leave me PM with your reply :)

Well there are others better qualified than I am to answer this but some of the nice little details do it for me - the yokes that move around in the wind with the hydraulics off, or the flicker of the fluorescent light under the MCP when you turn it on, or the way in which the whole thing feels alive. There's no question that the NGX is still the benchmark by which others are judged - even years on from its release - and it's a hugely polished add-on all round. But the IXEG plays a very different tune which I find quite refreshing.
