December 27, 20169 yr Any official indication from LR as to when a non-beta "retail ready" release will come for X-plane 11? I thought I remember Austin mentioning it was supposed to release before holidays 2016, so I must be mistaken about this. Anyone know when exactly? Dave Kalin Excel Classes Computer Lessons
December 27, 20169 yr Moderator X-Plane is always in beta in some form or other  . I wouldn't expect it to go final v11.0 before New Year, it's more likely to drag on for some time yet (We haven't even reached release candidates yet)

I thought I remember Austin mentioning it was supposed to release before holidays 2016, so I must be mistaken about this. Anyone know when exactly? I was under the same impression, at the time, but with the release of the Beta, I believe this is what Austin was referring to as it is a public beta. I think it was a novel stroke on his part to release it as it is to allow everyone a chance to use it, get a feel for it, point out the bugs and help build a better release. Tony is right that at this stage, it is a far cry from RTM and those of use who are deep in the beta know there are quite a few things that need fixed, revised, added, etc. Engage, research, inform and make your posts count! -Jim Morvay Origin EON-17SLX - Under the hood: Intel Core i7 7700K at 4.2GHz (Base) 4.6GHz (overclock), nVidia GeForce GTX-1080 Pascal w/8gb vram, 32gb (2x16) Crucial 2400mhz RAM, 3840 x 2160 17.3" IPS w/G-SYNC, Samsung 950 EVO 256GB PCIe m.2 SSD (Primary), Samsung 850 EVO 500gb M.2 (Sim Drive), MS Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit
December 27, 20169 yr I think I read/heared that they initially intended to release the final version on thanksgiving but since it wasn't ready by then so they decided to released it as beta. The current plan seems to be to have the final version ready by end of january which might still change of course.
December 27, 20169 yr Author Thanks guys...I've been buying/supporting the platform for a long time and typically while there's always a beta you can opt-in for, alongside there is always a stable retail release that updates a couple time per year, or so (much less often than the beta gets updates of course). While I appreciate the open beta, I just prefer (as long as it's not too long of a wait) to use an official stable retail version. Another month or so is nothing to me, so yea.. will keep an eye out for that. Dave Kalin Excel Classes Computer Lessons

December 27, 20169 yr XP11 is getting released on Steam in February If it's ready. There is usually at least one and often two release candidates, and we haven't even seen those yet. But I think most of the serious stuff like not recognizing multiple USB controllers has been ironed out, so somewhere in February is a good guess. I know the plane developers are itching to get an official 1.0 release so they can update v10 models. So i assume they planned a bit ahead for its release, with or without bugs in it still. Chock 1.1: "The only thing that whines louder than a jet engine is a flight simmer."
