Hi Rodger,Thanks, a fascinating link. I recognised the difficulties mentioned only too well. Sounds like we adopted a similar approach but without the resources of MS behind us obviously! All the best,John

Your welcome, John. I'm a musician, singer and recording artist, so I think I know what they are talking about. With that in mind, I'd say you 've done a pretty good job on the product so far. :)Rodger

Hello All, As Ricardo said, Pro Flight 2000 managed it VERY well, and when my wife bought me RC 3 I was most dissapointed -- listening to the demo's, I still feel the same way. If PF2000 could manage then so should RC. By the way, I managed to get PF 2000 to work in 2002, but have never tried it in FS9 . . . .it was a pain, but it could be done, anyone ever tried it in FS9?Best,Clayhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. Thanks Rodger,We appreciate your kind words. All the best,John

I was disappointed in the voices but my priority is realism. Thus, I am prepared to purchase it. I was ready to purchase on the 10th but...I discovered I had to have it shipped. No download! So I decided, well maybe I'll just wait and see how others like it. A second difficulty is that my system is pushing its CPU limits with add-ons utilities, scenery, and aircraft. I can't add anything that won't run via WideFS/FSUIPC to my secondary computer (a laptop). Can anyone tell me if RC4 can be run on a second computer via WideFS so I can keep the load off my FS computer?

absolutely will run on widefs on a second machinejd

Opinions, are opinions, and everyone has one. Ive listened to the demo, and immediately ordered V4.... Upon listening, had no negative opinions at all, but just imagined flying according to direction, and felt much better. Had v3 of Radar Contact, didnt get the update, as I used the older version of FS for a long time after 2004 came out. When I finally switched, felt a great LOSS not having Radar Contact to use. But, didnt update it as I was waiting for V4 to be released. In fact, my use of the FS gradually deteriorated, until was using it about 10% of the time I had been. Just realized that the loss of Radar Contact was responsible, and am looking forward to using the FS daily again.

Hi there,Basically the size of the download would have been around 700MB - all those notorious voice files are to blame :-lolIt was decided to make it available on cd only (worldwide delivery included in the price). All the best,John

>Hi Janne,>>That's correct. So EGPH would be voiced as Echo Gulf Papa>Hotel.>>All the best,>>JohnThat would be Golf :)http://www.army.com/alphabet.htmlOn topic though, I watched those movies... the problem is, it pieces the waves together. The waves were not all done with the same pitch/tone, so when they are pieced together, they sound horrible.RC4 functionality with FS9 ATC voice would have been a winner.I, for one, will not use RC4 because of that voice, it would drive me nuts.I use AISmooth ( http://library.avsim.net/search.php?Search...=root&Go=Search ) instead and very happy with it.As far as ATC itself, well, I would like RC4's ATC but hate the voices.

For what its worth, I listened to the demo vids after reading most of this thread. While watching the first, I had a hard time with the voices. By the time the second video was half over, I was used to it and it they sounded very natural. I think it just takes a little getting used to. I am looking forward to using RC4.Tony=http://www.flightsim-bevs.com]BEVBetaSig.jpg

it doesn't sound that bad, but I definately would turn off that southern accented woman. The way she whines with certain words would drive me crazy.

That is the way when you fly south in the US.I always know I have crossed the boundry when they say contact xxx approach on 125.niieeeeennnnne or fiehve. I am flying south next week to La. (may even go over Memphis) and get controlled by DT for real.Seriously-this is a great program. It will/would be nice if they can clean the cosmetics on the voices-but the reality part overshines any defects here imho...http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg

i have yet to see a comment on any of the new features. i was expecting lots of excitement over transition altitudes and transitions levels.and what about that great feature to delay your initial descent from cruise because your fmc doesn't say it's time.the list of enhancments is long, the comments on them are short.as i process all the orders, it is comforting to see the v1, v2, and v3 users ordering v4.looks like we have more work to do on the people who have never owned it.and like every defiency we've encountered in the past, these comments on the "sound" of rc will be addressed and distributed. with the quanity of wavs we're talking about, bear with us, it will take some time.jd
