For me, I love your functionality. I don't want the voices whatsoever. So I'm forced to pay a global shipping fee for the CD ( due to file size which is directly from the voices I don't want ). Not only that, but I have to wait the shipping time. I would highly recommend two builds. One build without the voices ( just use Microsoft Text-to-Speech like FS9 ATC does ) and one with. Let us download the one without voices. I don't know the internal workings, so I can't say how difficult it would be to use the Microsoft ATC voices, but they sure sound better than voice samples that all recorded at different tones / pitches then piecemealed together.

fs9 atc doesn't come close to having the correct wavs for the features in v4, which aren't implemented in fs9 atc.so i can't use the fs9 atc speech.jd

but with editvoicepack you can do practically anything.

I understand the accents exaggerate certain words, but every single time, the same whinning of "center" is extremely annoying. I was tired of her voice after that sfo-lax demo

Hi Jeff,Until today I wasn't sure but someone directed us to http://fsinsider.com/articles/assembled_voices.htmIt appears MS9 atc does what we do (or vice versa) but with somewhat more resources :-lolWhen text to speech works I, personally, will have a big party. No more spending hours and days recording all those wavs ;-)However, if MS themselves don't think it's up to the job...All the best,John

Hi Alex,:-lol It's a must for v5Memphis approach, please change controller, I hate that accent.I've had the pleasure of meeting Sara. Believe me, behind that accent lurks a lovely lady! All the best,John

HelloI never got to try Proflight but i have been messing around with Pointsofts FSCom SR which is a flightplanner and Adventure creator with voice comms. The voices are ok in this, not as good as FS9 but smoother than the Radar Contact demo.It has some nice things like regionalised background chatter worldwideand random Sids and Stars also a copilot that you can set to take some of the workload.http://www.fsaddons.de/

I love accents, especially southern, but I don't find it sexy when women talk ATC!

Hi there,The voices I can't comment on but, to be honest, RC gave up on generating adventures two versions ago. Too limiting in terms of what could be achieved. These days there's RC, voxatc, ivao, vatsim. Take your choice. Proflight is history, so is generating adventures if you want the best atc that is available - imho, but then I would say that, wouldn't I :-lolAll the best,John

>I love accents, especially southern, but I don't find it sexy>when women talk ATC!Well flying real aircraft, I have had alot of female ATC people talking to me, and I never minded it at all. They were as good as any of the guy's, sometimes better. I listened to one of the RC4 demos and it sounded alot better than I remember the RC3 sounding, during the brief time I had it. I think Microsoft worked alot on the flow of the speech in FS9 along with having the various voices on both ATC and Pilot , and this is probably almost impossible to duplicate in an add-on. If I stopped flying on Vatsim, I would probably get RC4, rather than go back to FS9 ATC. Having to change frequencies or headings every minute or so, really gets tedious after awhile.

:-lolI never said sexy - it's Doug's wife we're talking about and I can't think of how to reply without just digging a deeper hole for myself :-roll She's just one of life's genuinely nice people is what I meant :) All the best,John

haha, well I ment soothing tone of voice, which women have. But the exaggeration of certain words and having them repeat over and over everytime that voice pack comes up would be a little much for me to handle. I am wondering whether there would be updates to cover new airports and callsigns not in the release, as I have grown to love editvoicepack for allowing people to do just that

Hey now, I live in Memphis, and they aren't that southern here really :)Of course, once you step south into Mississippi or east into Arkansas that's another story! :(Really though, Memphis isn't bad, and I know a lot of the real-world Memphis controllers here, they don't have any accent, as most of them aren't from Memphis.

The main concern for me, was that prior versions of RC didn't interact with the AI. I would like someone with v4 experience to comment on this aspect. The voices sound OK to me, but it seems kind of slow paced. In a heavy AI environment, I wonder how things work? Also, is it practicable to use RC4 at sim speed x2? Default ATC is pretty much understandable, at least if you know what you are expecting.scott s..

Hi Alex,If the clever folks from editvoicepack could do the same in RC then, who knows. We'd be delighted if they could. For example if we have an a_LEBL.wav file we will play the name of the airport rather than the icao code.My experience with editvoicepack is, however, that you need a wav file which contains the right syllables to work from. Whether that is feasible with what we have recorded I don't know.In reality I feel it probably requires our volunteers to record and process new .wav files if that proves feasible. No promises. Definitely report any obvious omissions! All the best,John
