Freeware Downloads to enhance the FS Experience

Featured Replies

Hi all.In about 24 hours I will (finally) have high-speed internet! This after years of dial-up that usually flows, on a good day, at 33kbps. Generally lucky to get 19kbps.So, like all boys with a new toy, I'm gonna wanna play! For the reason above, I've never taken much notice of what I can download for FS - the largest file I've ever managed was about 6MB. And it wasn't pretty.Sooooo.....I'm up for some recommendations for (stable and proven) freeware that will make my FS experience that much better. But it has to be Freeware. Why? Because a couple of weeks ago I got my LevelD 767, and the wife went BALLISTIC! Seems it's not what she wanted me to spend money on coming up to the expensive Christmas period, and if another cent gets spent on FS in the near future, well, flying seems that much easier with fingers...Thanks all.Tim - NZWN

HAHAHAHAHA, ya im sure those fingers can come in handy when trying to put her(the airplane I mean) down nice and softly.I cant really help you out(as I dont have much freeware stuff, but I know there are many threads discussing this here that might be of some use.C ya later

YOU MADE YOUR DECISION.. YOUR CONNECTON SPEED... Don't come complaining to us when your life gets seriously warped! :)

My wife gave me some flak like that some years back about buying Flight Sim stuff. She said "it's either the flight sim stuff or me". I hope she is doing OK ;)

WOW!Broadband installed - this is incredible!!!!Off to play now - time to download some NZ scenery, and spend some time on Airliners.netI should be able to reach my monthly 4GB cap by the end of the day....CheersTimNZWN

2Mbps is more than enough. Here in Canada, I seem to be very fortunate to pay CAD$39 for 6Mbps. But anyway I don't want to brag! :-badteeth I am sure you will love it, just keep the number for HSA (High Speed Anonymous) close to you![hr color=#000000][table border=0" width="98%" id="table1" height="4" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="2][td width=500]Jason CYOO - Formerly MYNN[br /]General Aviation Fan[br][br /]

Hahaha. Bob I'm delighted to know that you have your priorities straight!

Ick!Do all broadband connections have a cap?I'm not saying I would exceed 4GB a month, but then, I'm not saying I couldn't, either ;)Meanwhile, enjoy your broadband, while those of us in the boonies froth at the mouth and "redial"....http://home.earthlink.net/~dawgfighter/sit...es/swvasig1.gif-Jeremy BurchSWVA4806 http://www.virtualswa.com/home.phpThe Ozark Dogfighter http://forums.avsim.net/images/wedge.gifHappy Flying!

In NZ they do, at least through the ISP I'm with.I think you can go as high as 10GB per month, but that's pricey, and mainly for business I assume.30-odd hours now, and the novelty hasn't worn off yet!CheersTim

Tim,Go on. We keep a watch over your wife !Roger
