February 12, 20179 yr Author I really feel for you and especially having such a great computer and still you have your fun spoiled due to these notorious VAS issues...such a shame! I'm repeating myself from other threads but if you can't find another solution and you have the chance to try P3D v3.3.5 or even better v3.2.3 that would be my best advice for you until a 64-bit version of P3D is available. How can I roll back to v3.2.3 without doing a clean install? Fábio Magnoni
February 12, 20179 yr Personally I normally prefer a clean install going between different versions and even if it will be much work and take a while it will be worth it if it will allow you to enjoy your system and flying rather than fighting VAS issues. You might also be able to just uninstall your current client and replace it with the version you like to try out. Regardless what path you choose I would make a complete system backup before doing anything to make sure you will be able to get back to where you are now in a quick and easy way should you want to.
February 12, 20179 yr Author I'm also very afraid that we will need to buy all the add-ons again when the 64bit release, a lot of money invested in the sim so far Fábio Magnoni
February 12, 20179 yr I'm also very afraid that we will need to buy all the add-ons again when the 64bit release, a lot of money invested in the sim so farI think that is the case for most of us and I think we'll see a mix of how developers and publishers will handle the upcoming 64-bit version. Some have already said there will be a free upgrade such as PMDG if I recall correctly. Then in the end like always no one will be forced into anything. For anyone who wishes to stay with the current version the choice will be there just like we still have people running FS9...
February 12, 20179 yr Author I think developers already use 64bit SDK, so wouldn't be big issue with latest add-ons, but let's see ORBX said the upgrade for v3 was free of charge, but from now on they will charge, we will only know when we're close to release, maybe sometime around April - May? February 13, 20179 yr Commercial Member 99% of my time I fly airliners and I'm trying to make the route EGLL (UK2000) to EHAM (FlyTampa), my average VAS usage is 3.3gb - 3.8gb, using the new PMDG 747-400 MY VAS free is probably a lot better because I only use a simple aircraft -- a 738 designed specifically for use with ProSim737 external cockpit software. There's no cockpit panels or systems simulation withing the sim aircraft. And I'm using FSX-SE. I have also used P3D but I find, for the amounts of traffic I like and the sort of scenery I use, FSX-SE is faster and smoother. My comparison above was intended as just that, a comparison between UK2K and AS EGLLs. There was nothing implied there about performance generally, it was just a side-by-side comparison in otherwise the exact same circumstances. February 13, 20179 yr If I recall correctly the VAS footprint is about 700 MB in the NGX for example which is the aircraft I use for all my flying and it's probably the same or bigger in the T7 and the Queen so if you can use those 700 MB elsewhere that of course is great in our tight 32-bit environment.
February 14, 20179 yr Having been away for a year so this was an interesting read. I think EHAM is my #1 airport , what a master piece it is. LFPG is stunning also. February 16, 20179 yr Author Something weird happened here after installing UK2000, it created a P3D v1 entry and everytime I open FTX Central v3, I need to select P3D v1 or P3D v3, how can I fix it? Fábio Magnoni
February 16, 20179 yr Did you answer "Yes" to the "use latest version of P3D?" question asked during the installation process? By this, it means "P3D v3", not just the very latest "v3.4 plus hotfix".
