When it comes, it comes. Maybe the wittering will stop for a while now. Personally, I'm pleased that we have another nine months or so to enjoy FS9 and finish off a few projects! Come to that, I'm still using FS2002, as well. Just to give myself the adrenalin rush of frame rates through the roof now and again ....Now I'm off to sign my NDA before Eric finds it ...MarkMark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cathayhk.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/maamlogo2.jpg[/a]

>>I to got a kick out of the posts that made PC GAMER out to be>the gospel truth, magazines post release dates all the time>and they are never right. >nobody ever said they were the gospel of truth. They just claimed to have an inside scoop about it, and we didn't think they would be mistaken. There was nobody with inside information that could refute it, so until I saw the press release stating winter 06, I believed the magazines writers rather than nobodies

>>Actually, there are several hundred people who could have>refuted it, but aren't allowed to for obvious reasons.>>The fine art of "espionage" begins with the willingness and>ability to listen for what isn't said... ;)>well since people aren't supposed to be saying anything, I didn't listen to what they said. But just because you or a few other people did not know anything about it being in beta doesn't mean it wasn't. So until microsoft said something officially, I'll believe PC Gamer over John Doe on the internet

I'm actually glad it's not coming out for almost a year. Now I'm not so apprehensive about buying all those add-ons I was going to buy with my Christmas money, and I can start saving for new hardware!

I'v read a bit on this thread and a couple of others about the dual video card route. For the sake of my uninitiated mind, could some kind soul please explain how this would work... or point me somewhere where this is being used.Would the dual video card power two monitors or would the output of both somehow be channeled to the one display device.I recently saw a three monitor setup using an old "three head" video card which was quite effective...Thanks in advance.Chris Porter:-outtaPerthWestern Australia

I've watched these threads with great interest. It now turns out that PC Gamer was wrong, Francois Dumas and Simflight were right, a lot of guys here choose to believe the wrong side, AVSIM publishes exactly the same words today that Simflight already published yesterday, and I believe some money will be changeing hands on account of a couple of bets having been made (wide and wicked grin)!A very good 2006 to all of us!Jaap Verduijn.

Can anyone tell me exactly how the new 5.1 surround FSX sound will be any diffent from what we experience with current 5.1 speaker setups - apart from stating the obvious that 'quality will be better' ....err, yes, but how?? I thought this was all dependant on the quality of the sound recordings coupled with 5.1 speakers ThanksE

>>>Can anyone tell me exactly how the new 5.1 surround FSX sound>will be any diffent from what we experience with current 5.1>speaker setupsSimple. Sounds in FS9 aren't recorded and digitally encoded IN surround sound. What you are currently experiencing is pseudo-surround sound...With true 5.1 surround encoding, you will be able to separate out and direct specific sounds (such as ATC) to a specific channel...
