PF3 or Radar Contact?

Featured Replies

I suggest a new rule: Only post positive things about any ATC add-ons, unless it is your favourite ATC add-on.

I'll start:

What I like about PF3, and RC4 does the same here, is that it is fully usable without a microphone.

And I enjoy the amount of different voices in PF3, my favourite ATC add-on, even if some of them do not sound that good in my ears, but it contains a facility to exclude those.

What I like in PF3 is that it is very well supported, very much developed as a program, with up to date terminology, amount of recorded voices, and MCE support. Meaning you can press buttons to your hearts delight or speak correct terminology via MCE, that can in addition use check lists and flows, full suite.

I should say PATCX and PF3 are the most comprehensive at the moment

But you can use voice in PF3+MCE combo, is the winner

Nah, I don't want to talk to my pc and I suspect many others here concurr.

While the rc in sim UI is certainly dated, the underlying code is still very effective.

Who said you should?

They are keystroke-based originally, just click your comms away

Hi Folks,

OMG - since I've added "Voice Attack" to control RC4 - it's like a whole new world - like going from a 2D panel to a VC - no more hunt and peck for - - - 1 - 7 - 1 - 2 - 1 - 3 - 1 - 7 - - - the freedom from the ball and chain - wow - I could never go back to not talking to my PC... Obviously you need a good headset...

In addition to ATC - VA acts as my virtual copilot - pressing buttons, acknowledging instructions, and reading checklists...

Best $10.00 I've ever spent on FS...

Regards,
Scott

Yes, while Voice Attack is great, still MCE is more FSX/P3D oriented.

You can do in MCE all that like above and have interactive checklists as well. That would take a lot, a lot of digging in Voice Attack and tinkering with P3D.

MCE+ you name it, is even more OMG in context I would say. But more expensive, yes.

While Shoot still works btw, that is free ))

Yeah I have VA as well and use it for comms to AI in Falcon as well as RC.

Mind you I usually hand over comms in rc to my copilot

Used Radar Comtact for years.  With my new install I tried PF3 amd found it extremely difficult to setup with a huge learning curve.  I felt like I had a blindfold on while trying to learn it...no menus for button pushes, popping up screens, etc.  It’s about 10x more complicated than Radar Contact and doesn’t even work as well.  I also tried VoxAtc briefly but went running back to RC.  I do not like talking to a ATC or a co-pilot, it’s too unreliable and clunky. For me RC is by far the best ATC addon.
