Andreas,

I googled the error number on this forum and found this. Path not found...

It sounds like your network link to the host (you said RC is running on a client) might be timing out for some reason. It also can be a permissions issue. RC needs to get to your fs data files on the host and fs itself. RC polls fs on you host via fsuipc to get ai data every few seconds

When you built the scenery database be sure the time stamp on the r4.csv and a4.csv file in rc's data folder agrees withe r5.csv file in your fs root folder.

Be sure your fsuipc is up  to date from http://forum.simflight.com/topic/80977-updated-modules

and makerwys and widefs from http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66136-useful-additional-programs/

Be sure since you are on a network that you ran makerwys directly on the host before you started the RC rebuild process and that your paths are correct including the network indication.

Thanks Ron and Ray for your help.

FSuipc is up to date, makerwys run, database updated on the client, path is first found then lost ...
I think it was a timing-out problem (possibly combined with permission issues).
I now have installed RC4 on the host computer and all is well.
RC4 is great; the only new problem with P3Dv4 is that flights saved by RC4 cannot be resumed since P3Dv4 doesn't save .FLT files.

Even now I have to keep telling RC4 the path to P3D on my server. It just cannot remember it for some odd reason. I run RC4 on a client.

With VAS issues a thing of the past the need to save and reload a flight should become unnecessary.

I have the new FSUIPC5, and am now trying to reinstall RCv4. The only sim versions showing are FSX, and FS9.  I have P3D on my new system.  Do I install to FSX, even though, it's not installed? What is the install process for P3D v.4?

You can install it to wherever you want (mine is in ...\program files) and you run rcv4.exe in the rcv4x folder. As .flt / .wx path I have c:\users\myname\documents\prepar3d v4 files (although there aren't .flt files anymore)

@ Ray: I didn't use the "resume" function of RC4 for VAS reasons, but because I don't want to sit in front of my PC for hours during the cruise phase.

Understood. I appreciate time is a rare commodity if you work.

If your e-mail and user name has not changed since  your original order the automated system should have replied within an hour if the formatting was correct and the e-mail went out as text format.

If no response then contact Doug at [email protected] with that information.

Any update on getting the old separate display window back rather than the Adventure display window?

You might be better asking that in Pete Dowson's FSUIPC Forum. There's no official support here for RC as you're probably aware.

Maybe so but the question still stands, brother.

AdvDisplayHotKey=88,10 in the fsuipc.ini file doesn't work with 5?

Daft question, but how are going to preserve Pete ?

Given the constant changes to P3D, Pete will need to be kept going..... forever.

I believe this should be made the main priority in the flightsim community, if not the world's governments.

Never mind "True Glass", "Dynamic Lighting" and 'multi core processing'. Science must be charged with a way of ensuring that Pete continues on his quest to keep the simulated gears of flight simming, turning.

Maybe Governments around the world could assign a proportion of their GDP, to investigate potential methods of achieving this.
