Just a heads up: Update to Nvidia 382.53 WHQL!

Recommended Posts

As bean_sprout already said:

People reporting better fps usually had some remaining configurations in NV Inspector and/or Nvidia control panel.

On a driver update everything Nvidia-related resets itself to factory settings which can for sure be a good thing :)

the only setting i always reconfigure everytime i update drivers is optimize for single display performance, and prefer maximum performance. Is there anything else that I should change in the NVIDIA CP?

I just installed them and they cured world hunger and poverty!

Thanks Nvidia.

Hmmm... not in this part of the world.
I guess again a buggy driver.

I selected the 1080TI (Win10 x64) at the NVidia.com driver selector and they only listed the 382.33 for the card. Strange indeed.

At every release someone is getting a huge improvement in FPS.

Just wondering when it is going to be my turn....

Yeah, it must be like the lottery which I don't win either!

It could be a bug related to the old driver which has nothing to do directly with Prepar3D v4.  I reported my issue here in multiple other threads that my graphics card cooled down when I had crappy 17 - 20 fps in LAX or NYC. This problem is gone with the new driver. I get 27 - 33 fps now in these areas on full autogen and my graphics card runs at 68 - 70 °C (100 % Core usage) instead of only 50 °C.

So there were definitly a problem here, what is gone now. The last driver 382.33 was clean installed also, but maybe something else was wrong, absolutely possible. Since Windows 10 messes around at Windows Updates with drivers by reinstalling them its not a big deal.

You can test this when you sort your installed programs in control panel by "installed on...". You will see programs show up installed today or 3-4 days ago even you did not even touched these programs for weeks. For example right now it shows I installed Skype today, MS Office and Teamviewer. Same happens sometimes with drivers that windows update just re install them silently when security updates coming in.
