August 25, 20178 yr Hi guys, I recently purchased P3D V4 and FTX Global. Unfortunately my textures look pretty bad in short distance. Only directly under the aircraft the textures are fine, as you can see in Picture 2. You can even see the point, at which point the textures are becoming blurry again I already tried limiting my FPS, changing the LOD Radius but without success. Picture 1: Picture 2: Thanks for your help System Specs: i5-4600k @4,0GhZ 8GB RAM GTX 970 4GB
August 25, 20178 yr Commercial Member I've never been able to get Orbx textures/FTX Global textures to look as sharp, and as far as their screenshots in FSX or P3D. Even with an i7 7700k @4.8 GHz and GTX 1080. I'm certainly open to ideas and would love to enjoy Global/Vector to the fullest one day. Good luck. August 25, 20178 yr What resolution are are you using for textures. Also have you set "use high resolution terrain textures" checkbox to on and turned up the texture resolution to 7cm? Steve McNitt
August 25, 20178 yr Careful.. "use high resolution terrain textures" is a performance killer, be aware. Better zoom out a bit (to 0.3 or 0.4) and it will all look better. Bert
August 27, 20178 yr Author I am using 2048x2048 Textures and texture resolution at 15cm. Changing any of these options to higher or lower doesn't do anything unfortunately
August 27, 20178 yr I fully agree with OP. Distant texture sharpening is still a problem in v4. In some cases textures get sharp only a few miles (2-3 miles) in front. This is also true in FTX full fat regions (like PAVD area). What I really don't understand is that if I look backwards/sidewards distant textures keep sharp for quite a while. - Harry 9800x3D (Strix x870e-E) - 64GB RAM (DDR5 6000, CL 30) - RTX 5090, 34'' 1440p OLED HDR - Windows 11 Pro (1TB M.2) - MSFS 2024 (MS Store, 4TB M.2).
