Random Aerofly FS2 Over Innsbruck and Chicago

Featured Replies

Cruising along at up to 350Fps I pause to snap some pic's that catch my eye, using the combination of Aerofly and Orbx.

Nice shots... how quickly one adapts to the look of the new sim!

You can browse other Innsbruck threads around here to reinforce how good AFS2 looks.

Idle thought: why is LOWI so well represented in the sims??

Nice shots.

I think it is the romantic allure of the Swiss Alps...Sound of Music "the hills are alive, with the sound of music"....that sort of thing... :gaul:

How detailed are those planes in Aerofly2?

Well, from my perspective, they started off at least matching FSX default, and have since gone on to resemble some pretty good third party planes, though they are still missing some features that Ipacs is working to add.

If anything, on my side at least, i'm a bit worried that in their enthusiasm, some of our more hardcore users are driving Ipacs towards attempting to produce payware quality planes for free, which is a little unfair. Yet Ipacs seems game to try........

In the end, I would say its an early access sim: still growing, but showing lots of promise.

Very true. I know it's very easy to criticize and give unrequested advices, but I've been indeed surprised that they've decided to focus on doing a very complex, payware level aircraft, when maybe they should have introduced basic functioning systems (fuel, etc.) for all aircrafts (although I'm aware that the capabilities introduced in the Q400 will also serve the aforementioned goal). On the other hand, the planned ATC seems a very good idea instead.

Sometimes it's better not to listen to hardcore users.

This link to their Dash 8 tutorial should give a good indication of the present growing level of systems complexity.......
