March 29, 200620 yr I used these sounds on a flight today and found they are great. Thanks for doing them!KP

March 29, 200620 yr Thank you Jeff for this insight. March 29, 200620 yr Rick, you don't want to overwrite anything. What I do is download and unzip to my desktop. Then go into your aircraft folder and rename your present sound folder to "originalsound". Then just move the downloaded sound folder into your aircraft folder. When you're done, you'll have the new sound folder and your originalsound folder. If you don't want to keep the new sounds, just delete your sound folder and then rename your originalsound back to sound again. I hope that makes sense. Curt Branch
March 29, 200620 yr thanks, downloading now.RickPent 4 3.0 1024 ht/offasus p4c800hd 200gb 4 partitionsmaxtor 7200 rpmati 9800pro 256 cat 5.1221"IIyama crt19" relisys crtwin xp sp2 CH yoke + pedals+ dell laptop for asv ivae etc
March 29, 200620 yr Wow! just got them, they sound just like the real one, they have that realistic howl outside when the engine is put up through about 40% N1.Interior is excellent as well, that high pitched whine reminds me of all the flights I've done in a classic 737 as a passenger.Great Stuff!!!
March 29, 200620 yr The whine is spot on isnt it! That always wakes me up in a morning when the Jet2 going to Amsterdam turns around in the RWY14 loop at Leeds.Richard
March 29, 200620 yr Downloaded and tried the sounds with default FS737 and it works well. Two observations:1) Do sounds affect frame rates? I notice a drop in mine with these. Could be my imagination but just curious2) I do pretty good landings if I may so so myself with 737s :-) and notice the sound on contact with this set is quite a heavy thud...is that pretty accurate to real life?I noticed in this thread a suggestion for installing the package. If I may suggest you can install sounds the same way you would install a new texture. In other words create a new folder called "sound.new" and place the new files in there. Open your aircraft.cfg file and in the line that says sound= add the word new to the particular aircraft you wish to use the sound for. It will now look like this "sound=new". So its possible to have say 4 paints for the same plane with all 4 using different sounds or a mixture as you like. Hope I explained that ok.ThanksBill
March 29, 200620 yr As far as I know everytime ive been in the 737 and ive flown in them a lot there is quite a thud on touchdown. Now if we can just get the brakes groaning how good a package would it be then!!Richard
March 30, 200620 yr Been so long I havent flown I honestly cant remember. But good to know Richard thanksBill
March 31, 200620 yr Commercial Member You might want to use the sound settings I provided in the soundset. ;)
March 31, 200620 yr I must be odd man out because, and no offense to the author intended, but I find the default sounds for the PMDG 737 to sound way more realisitic, primarily upon approach, and I'm sorry I'm not sophisticated enough to know why it is most believe this new sound package to be superior generally to other sound sets for 737s. But I DO appreciate anyone willing to share their hard work here and honor them for this.Noel Noel System: 9900X3D Noctua NH-D15 G2, MSI Pro 650-P WiFi, G.SKILL 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000, WD NVMe 2Tb x 1, Sabrent NVMe 2Tb x 1, RTX 4090 FE, Corsair RM1000W PSU, Win11 Home, LG Ultra Curved Gsync Ultimate 3440x1440, Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case, TCA Boeing Edition Yoke & TQ, Cessna Trim Wheel, RTSS Framerate Limiter w/ Front Edge Sync.
