Clouds are no match!

...If you've got a turboprop!

A lazy VFR flight from Santa Monica, CA to Santa Barbara, CA in the Moo2.  This is a recently updated MU2 from X Aviation (allowing it to basically work in XP11)... the original release was some years ago, so the textures aren't as supreme as new XP11 releases.  The scenery is all freeware Ortho4XP - actually the SBA airport is payware by GPB500.  I had to clear some higher clouds so I went VFR at 16,500 ft.

Enjoy (and a quick edit:  All lighting is in the sim I didn't retouch anything)

A quick climb out of SMO and we're off

Love the high wing twin and beautiful shots of California!

HLJAMES

Beautiful shots.

A fine series of pics that show again the possibilities of free scenery in the visually most capalable civilian flight sim we have today.

Very inspiring shots.  I also just got the new version of the MU2 as well but have not tried it out yet, will do so now after seeing these.

I wish my xp textures looked like that. My GTX 970 can handle textures on high. Can't wait to get a reasonably priced upgrade videocard.

That's the same card I'm using.  Are you sure it's textures?  If I run higher than 2xAA my computer slows to a crawl.

At just under 4gig of vRam, when I try to run textures at high with ny gtx 970, I'm almost at 3.6 and that leads to a ctd on my system. At texture set to medium I'm about 1.7 which is great, but the ground textures look blurry. It's why I fly at dusk or night time. I also have to run at 2xAA and it looks much better in xp 11 than it did in xp 10.

I have my eye on a GTX 1070. That will allow me to run a higher texture setting. I'm waiting for the price to go down to what it should be.

Right now, they are over priced.

You check the box to compress textures right?  I mean my gpu video ram goes up too but I've never got a CTD .  For me I just get huge stutters and low fps

What res are you running?  I'm at 1080P

1080P.

I used the Setting The Rendering Options in X Plane 11 Youtube video.

I have too many add on airports in the cities that I like to fly.  This is really what is causing the high vram usage, but this is where XP 11 shines.
