Is it me or is they no pop out 2D panel. The pop up click stops are there but nothing happens?

It should pop out.  Click on the left side middle of the bezel.

I had that happen once when I had left the sim paused for a long time.  The pop out didn't work again until I restarted P3D.  Has it never worked for you?

Are the GTN 750 and 650 working in the panel?  I assume that you ran the GTN config tool.

Just done my first flight. EGNX to EHAM

All when well and am very impressed with this aircraft. Its right up there. Really like it a lot.

Q.

As I was turning on to intercept the LOC / GS, Since I have not used the GTN for around 2 years all I could remember was to turn CDI to LNAV! not GPS!

I could see the GS flags disappear and all was looking good. I clicked on the APP  (one above the GTN) but the jet did not descend. I can see another set of AP buttons with a LOC button and APP to the right of the GTN.

Could you tell me as I know its user error the steps to pick up the GS and for it to lock onto the GS and descend.

Is there a way to update the GTN 750/650 with current information, Charts, diagrams, etc. I know you can update the AIRAC cycles via Navigraph, but what about the rest of the data?

You actually cannot update ANY of the Garmin GTN data with Navigraph..

If you intercept the GS from above, it will not "catch" and descend. You need to intercept the GS from below and then the a/c should capture it and follow it down. Also be aware that it is possible to fly through the GS if your speed is way too high.

If that's the case, then what is the point of $50 for a navigation system with obsolete data that can't be updated? I've been reading posts of the GTN 750/650 and how much everyone likes it, but I'm on the fence here about getting it, but can't seem to get past the old chart and navigation data. I certainly am no expert when it comes to things like this, which is why I ask about the cost vs. long term effectiveness of this software.

Conversely, what's the point of having up-to-date navigation data, when the sim itself cannot truly be completely updated?

But, you can update the database in the Garmin GTN and GNS families, it's just bloody darned expensive!
