January 17, 20188 yr In FSX the Baytower RV-7 and Vertigo RV-8 have been my favorite GA aircraft. I never did get the RV-7 to transition to P3Dv3 despite all the supposed fixed, but the RV-8 worked fine. I'm re-building with P3Dv4.1 now and looking to install *only* addons that are certified and supported by the vendors. Neither of these two craft are. So any suggestions on a replacement? Single engine, normally aspirated; simple cockpit; bubble cockpit (no roof; I want to see stuff!); low wing, cruise of 150kts+; fixed or retract u/c ok. I fly low/slow when sightseeing or 'fast' when traveling so the Vans craft were perfect for that. Freeware or payware is fine. Looking for your favorites for my consideration.
January 17, 20188 yr The bubble top makes the selection a lot more limited. I have 2 from Iris, the PAC CT-4F and the Grob Tutor that meet the specs. The RealAir Legacy and SF260 fit the specs and will fly in v4 but they are no longer available. My MSFS 2020 repaints: Flightsim.to - Profile of HStreet Working on MSFS 2024 versions.
January 17, 20188 yr Author Thanks Henry, but neither of those specifically lists P3Dv4 compatibility. They may (obviously do) work fine, but I am very strict about my full compatibility ... spent too much time in the past trying to get things to work, or then having odd issues even when they 'install' ok. Yes, I am fully aware that my strict rule, and desired specs somewhat limit the field ... I may have to become more flexible and accept some compromise ... but not yet! :) Thank you so much for your response ... they do look like interesting craft and the CT4 is an NZ plane as well :)

I tried all sorts of fixes for v3 but couldn't get any of them to work, which was tremendously disappointing and I 'reverted' to the RV-8

Unfortunately, the RV7 predates even DX10 so it has 'baked in' shadows as well. In a previous life I did modify a cockpit to de-shadow it but it quickly got boring! February 16, 20188 yr Hi fellas, Thought I might bump this thread to ask if there is a fix to get all the sounds to work in P3D v4. Although the RV7 looks great in P3D the gauge sounds and switch sounds do not work. Everything else is just fine. Just checking if I'm missing something here.
