I intend to use my pool as a personal "reservoir"! Shhhh..don't tell the neighbours!! Anyway, back to the topic. Good news indeed. Nico from NMG will have to upgrade his scenery! Agree...but other developers have not caught on yet that there's a huge market down here so that's all we have for now..someone will hopefully realise and fill the gap and their business accounts at the same time....and I'm sure expats would also love some decent scenery... It's not that no-one has caught on, as the failure of Aerosoft's Johannesburg project can testify too. Very difficult to get Zuma's government officials at the airport or ACSA to provide any support and provide any airport related information or allow access for photography. Unless of course you hand them a bag of cash - which might get them off their backsides..

February 1, 20188 yr Aeroworx's freeware South African scenery for FSX & FS9 look FAR better. Railway lines, pylons & wind farms as as mesh work very well. Cape Town looks great. Robin "Onward & Upward" ... To the Stars, & Beyond...

Cape Town looks great. I have all of the Aeroworx addons installed. LC, Mesh, harbour, non-airport scenery, dams and vector data, Ysterplaat, the refinery. CT does look good with it, especially the mountain. Although, the mountain textures still look very brown (granite looks more blue from a distance) so that's annoying.
February 1, 20188 yr Me too, somehow, in FS9, I've ended up with 'sand banks' around the Milnerton area & also in the harbour. I'm using Howards 'The Natural World' for my ground textures. Looks far better. http://biggles11.wixsite.com/the-natural-world/about & have dropped an aircraft carrier into Tablebay harbour to practice carrier landings with an Impala. February 1, 20188 yr I've flight-simmed into Cape Town several times over the years, and I guess the sim airport will also need updating someday. Don't know if they have one, but Cape Town would seem to be the ideal location for a de-salination plant. Even Tampa Bay, Florida has one (non-nuke), and they usually have enough water available thru rainfall. (But their population has grown considerably).

Cape Town's population has been booming for years. In fact, it was forcecast about 20 years ago that the city would run short of water if existing infrastructure capacity was not increased. Well, that day has come. The government too busy stealing money and driving fancy cars to be be concerned with issues regarding government and stability. This is typically why half of Africa is arriving on European shores in boats.
