F50 GTN750 mods

Featured Replies

As explained in the GTN Integration post, I have made some changes to the autopilot and EADI/EHSI readouts to make operation with the GTN as the primary navigation source (and the FMC disabled) easier.

You can request my mods via PM, including your email address.

This will be an active project for a while..

Please post any feedback to my mods below..

Thanks for the mods Bert!

I installed them and did a test flight from EINN to EGBB this evening flying an RNAV approach into EGBB. Everything seems to work well and the changes you made to the EADI/EHSI readouts appeared to show up. However I notice that NAV and LNAV both have to be engaged on the autopilot for it to track the GTN, is that correct? As the FMS had been deactivated but FMS was still in the drop down menu, I opened it out of curiosity and I wondered what that was showing? It appeared to be listing and measuring various parameters during the flight.

Many thanks for all your efforts with this.

Hi Bill,

I have just sent out V2.1. where the LNAV button now toggles GPS/VLOC, and yes you want to be in GPS mode and NAV mode for the autopilot to follow the GTN track.

The FMS popup has been disabled, what you saw was a debug panel that I use during testing..

BTW, in case anyone is wondering, the GS and VAPP buttons are now coupled, so that selecting either one will engage Approach mode on the autopilot.

Thank you very much for these mods Bert.

Regards Dave.

Hi Bert,

Thanks for clarifying that - I had assumed I needed to be in NAV and GPS modes as per usual for the GTN to function but normally the LNAV button is not  required with the GTN which confused me!

Many thanks again for these mods,

Bill

Fantastic job, Bert. Works like a charm !

Uwe

Working like a charm also here, another great job.

Thanks Bert

Thanks Bert! Works great!

Also, props to Flight1 for the upgrade coupon. I figured I would have to buy the 750 for $60 or whatever as I only purchased the 650 back in January 2017. But when I went to their website I saw they combined the 650 and 750 in one package and they gave me an upgrade to the GTN750/650 Complete Edition for $20. :)

Anyways Bert, this mod and the 750 has made the F50 much more fun to fly. Thanks again!!

do you have a photo of the mods and is it fsx compatible?

It was developed on P3DV4, but I would expect it to work on FSX as well..

Suggest you try it and let us know!

Is the F50 worth purchasing?

Suggest moving that question to a separate post..
