March 24, 20188 yr Commercial Member Hello All! For some reason when I try to lower the texture res lower than 5M, my CPU spikes very bad. I do have High res textures checked. Does this happen to any of you? March 25, 20188 yr Really interesting stuff. I'd never even thought about the impact on CPU utilization with small texture sizes. Like Bert I see a huge difference between 1m and 7cm. At 1m the CPU is just loafing along at 18-25% (all other scenery sliders are at 100%). When I drop the texture size down to 7cm the CPU jumps up to 50-60%. So, I learned something new today..........Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. March 28, 20188 yr Depends on what scenery you are looking at.. photoreal areas can look quite fuzzy, even at 1m.. Bert

I think I like what I see in 1m more than 2m on the ground, and I'm flying tubes mostly. Can anybody confirm 2m is inferior visually for them to 1m? Thanks.
March 29, 20188 yr 30cm is my sweet spot for detailed roads and the bits of photoreal OLC has 1m and them bits are blurry. Edited March 29, 20188 yr by Nyxx David Murden. March 29, 20188 yr I believe vector objects are 7cm like shorelines and rivers But yeah my computer stutters with 7cm. It was terrible in FSX but a little less noticeable in P3D | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
