July 7, 20187 yr I’m using P3Dv4.2 professional. Several months ago P3D began starting automatically when I boot my computer. It runs ok, but I don’t want it starting every time I boot. When I close P3D, I confirm in task manager that nothing is running before shutting down the computer. P3D still auto starts at boot up. I have removed and reinstalled the client IAW Lockheed’s instructions but it didn’t help. This behavior seemed to start after installing FSiPanel but I can’t confirm a cause and effect. I removed FSiPanel however, and it didn’t change anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Respectfully, Don
July 7, 20187 yr With W10 all programs still running at shutdown will be restarted next time you boot inti Windows... P3D is still busy shutting down internal things after the GUI has dissappeared. Wait a little longer after exiting P3D before shutting down W10.. July 9, 20187 yr You can always confirm it has shutdown by pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL, open Task Manager, and insure that Prepar3D.exe process has ended. If it is still loaded, just highlight it, and click End Process. Alan
July 9, 20187 yr I have been "solving" this problem since Microsoft introduced it couple of updates back with two icons on my desktop: Shutdown and Restart, respectively having commands "shutdown.exe /s /t 0" and "shutdown.exe /r /t 0" as batch files. Never use the start menu and never had a problem with auto-opening. Also fast-startup is deactivated via registry, and I would recommend anyone to implement these 3 things on a computer for gaming (and/or FS).

January 5, 20197 yr There is an option in Windows 10 to auto sign-in after an update, and since few months Microsoft has coupled this option with a relaunching of your applications after a reboot. This option can be disabled here : Settings / Accounts / Sign-in Option / Look at the last option in the bottom.. It said : Use my sign-in info to automatically finish setting up my device and reopen my apps after an update or restart. Perhaps your P3D auto-restarted after an update ?
