AI traffic call signs

Featured Replies

Hi

I'm using the Ultimate Traffic Live app for P3D, and it's generally working great. The one thing that really annoys me is that it calls some airlines perfectly fine, but on others it completely leaves out the call sign of the airline, and just uses a number.

A good example is British Airways aircraft; they don't get called 'SPEED BIRD 123', for example.  However, a KLM would be called properly, and you would get 'KLM 123'.

I know the system itself knows the SPEED BIRD call signs because it does my aircraft perfectly well, it's just the AI aircraft that it doesn't say properly. I'm assuming there is a file I can edit for this kind of thing?

Thanks, Gaz

I took the shell off my racing snail, thinking it would make him run faster. If anything, that made him more sluggish.

If you don’t get a callsign, it’s because your voice pack does not have the callsign.  Checkout editvoicepack to add callsigns.  There’s lots that come with the program and even more you can download from avsim.

In the case of British airways, my guess would be that UTL spelled the callsign without a space “speedbird” which would cause it to not be called properly.

The correct spelling of the SPEEDBIRD callsign does not have a space. I would have thought that other users of UTLive would have mentioned something if the SPEEDBIRD callsign was not working....

You say that but I changed my P3D Airbus Professional from Aerosoft to use SPEEDBIRD, it doesn't work. I have to use SPEED BIRD. Having said that, you aren't the first person to say that to me... Very odd.

You could ask Tom the developer, on average he takes 3 to 4 years to reply to issues.

I went into each UTL aircraft cfg and changed many atc names to things like SPEED BIRD or JET BLUE  and that resulted in those airlines being identified by ATC as "Jet Blue 2345" vs "2345" by example.

So I would try that.

note: you may have to change permissions to "write" in order to modify those files.

Why on Earth would the UTLive developer mess about with the existing callsigns?

Well, I just realised, yesterday, that I had used EditVoicepack before, and liked it. You could use it to change what is said (eg, 112[decimal]5 instead of 112[point]5). Also, I think you can get the calls speaking faster, which I think is good.

Now, that was some funny sh....!

Gary, I have spent a ton of work correcting the .cfg's for their models. All sorts of stuff, from call signs to parking positions (cargo were set to gates...,) to parking codes etc.

I don't think this is an intention of doing so, they are (Flight1) notorious for these sorts of shenanigans and fully deserve the lulz.

Go to the forum. This is by no means the first time he's done this.. Remember Ut2??   If it wasn't for that people would cut him some stack, but no he's pulled a stunt like this before and left people with a bad taste in their mouth before.

Last time he just did a runner, abandoned his customers, the forum and flight 1 and buggered off.

That's shoody, thats what PSS did in the early 2000s.

It's the pay to beta junk again. I can't stand it.  It paves the way for shoddy products like this and BBS etc etc

Hi.

Do you have a list of incorrect listings? I'd like to fix my files as well.

Thank you!

I'm also a week away from uploading my updates. 200 updated addon schedules for summer 2018 and nearly everything assigned a repaint where possible around 1000

Unfortunately I don't, I was doing all this over the course of a few months, on the fly. Sorry!
