September 7, 20187 yr Ryan: So, you didn't donate your 787, after all, good for you....🙂... The 787 shots and the KMSP details look good...I have been there a couple of times...many years ago... I do have the QW787, but too much technology to attract my immediate attention...after this post, however, I should try it out for myself, I think...

Yeah I forgot I had patched it to the latest version... that seemed to cure my VNAV issues. Then I figured I'll give it a try again. At one point I was competent enough to start from cold and dark, but now I've set it to setup and ready to go. I'm still a little uneasy about flying approaches - does the FMS basically control all approaches? There's no way to manually enter a VOR frequency and "fly the needles?" Unlike the 737 I could not find a way to get an EHSI on the screen. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

But the "Needles" are on the PFD and you can type in the freq/heading of the ILS in the FMC if you want to do it without a flight plan and only using the FMC to dial in the numbers. I like that NWA paint! 🙂 Edited September 8, 20187 yr by Steve Dra Regards, Steve DraGet my paints for MSFS planes at flightsim.to here, and iFly 737s hereDownload my FSX, P3D paints at Avsim by clicking here

But I can tell you I've manually tuned one approach in 3 years so far on the 74. We load the approach in the FMS and let it do its thing. If we need to navigate on radials we create custom waypoints and intercept courses to do it rather than trying to use the HDG SEL function to track a radial. Thats to much workload especially after flying 17 hours. Brian Thibodeaux | B747-400/8, C-130 Flight Engineer, CFI, Type Rated: BE190, DC-9 (MD-80), B747-400 My Liveries
September 8, 20187 yr Ryan et al.: Thanks! This gives me faith I could at least use the FMS, for now, to take this from A to B....was trying the cold & dark just now...at least been able to start both engines with the START selectors and the FUEL control switches, as suggested....will give it a more detailed try later....Good weekend to you all!
