Justflight released their outstanding PA-38 Tomahawk. Very nice little plane, supports PBR in P3Dv4.4 and higher. Locks really very nice!

Big issue for me: i don't find the avionics master switch, my radios are staying dark. Any help much appreciated, thanks!

I looks a great product that JF have made there and i’ll Be buying it either for P3D or X plane, but probably both.

But the real PA-38.., I used to hate flying them, the tails used to flap and make a noise like someone kicking a dustbin when in the stall, and one of the ones I used to fly was bent so also prone to a viscous wing drop ... ah happy days!

My very beginnings were in a Tomahawk, both my flight instructor and I were close to 220 pounds each, which made for a “comfy” ride 😉 and exciting w&b calculations......

I’d be interested in early reviews too!

Does it have a windshield rain effect?  I don't see that in the feature list, nor video.

Except PBR, how does it compare with Alabeo's Tomahawk?

It seems that the instruments of Just Flight are a bit 'flat'.

From the manual: The RADIO LIGHTS rotary knob controls the backlighting for the avionics displays (SL30, SL40 and GTX). However, this is not working. Only the audio panel lights work. Powering on each individual radio doesn't work when the light switch is on.

Others have reported the same issue regarding the avionics over at the JF forum. I submitted a support ticket so until they respond/address this issue the Tomahawk is a no go.

Martyn has fixed the bug, there is a new installer and a fixed CFG-file, more infos here.

Thumbs up to JF support for a quick response to correct the issue.

I use Reality XP products in place of Flight 1. The Reality XP GTN 650/750 works fine as popup window and as well in the virtual panel.

The Reality XP GNS 430/530 however works for the popup, but the GNS units in the virtual panel remains dark.

JF light GA series collection is great. Highly recommended. I will be picking this one up as well.

Haven't tried it in rain yet but the Installer didn't include a Trueglass installer. So I guess the answer would be no.

Well there are more rain effects than just TrueGlass.  A2A has a freeware rain effect for developers, too.  No excuse not to have it in 2019. Or 2018 really.

If true that the fx are not there, it's a shame as JF produces some really wonderful and unique models (insta-buy) otherwise.

 

See, I told you, there’s a viscous wing drop on these little things. (At about 10;30)

I just bought this Tomahawk: NOT satisfied ; this thing stalls too easy, there is a lack of power in this version, not realistic ! I have flown the real PA38 for my PPL for about 150 hrs, this small aircraft has not the power as a PA28 has, but in this P3D version they exaggerate the lack of power ! The PA38 does have  a Lycoming 118HP engine, in this version it seems only 70HP ! Absolutely not a pleasure to fly
