ATC gives nonsensical instructions

Featured Replies

I am trying out the ATC in XP11. File a flightplan from ESGP. ATC gives me taxi instructions to stop at runway 01 and then cross it and after that going to the start of the runway.
Then I am cleared for take off which I do. Then during the take off run ATC tells me again to cross the runway. After the take off I am told I have violated ATC instructions ???

Also when filing a flight there are no mentions about VFR or IFR like in FSX.

Are there any alternative to the built in ATC ?

I agree with this suggestion.  The moving map and the flight planner are two other features of Pilot2ATC that make it very useful.

There's also RC4toXplane. Radar Contact 4 is now free, and it works great in XP with this program! You can get it at SimMarket for 20 Euros.

You will find a link to download RC4 there if you need it.

X-Plane's ATC works a lot better when you file your plan after take-off.

I have RC4 and have used it in FSX. It is only suited for bigger planes and IFR

I use Pilot2ATC and am very happy with it.

I am now spending time on trying to learn this program with the free trial period which has only a few days left. I find it tricky and difficult to use. After some work I have come so far as to have ATC answer my requests. For example altimeter setting. But the answer is really weird 0880 and not correct.
Then I ask for VFR clearance and was told to

Repeat your request with a proper call sign Cessna Two Sierra Papa

my callsign is Cessna N172SP . Why is that not proper ? It is a Cessna 171 and N172SP is written on the plane.
I don't understand how to use SayIt. Nothing happens if I try to press that button

But isn't that unrealistic ?

Probably. But I'd rather have an enjoyable flight without being harassed by the ATC.

Why should it be?

The more appropriate information you share about your intentions or destination, the better ATC can monitor and help you.
