That was my first gut guess as well, but then after a quick visit in Bing Maps I dismissed it because I thought it wouldn‘t match. Now that I read your post I went back and had another look at it and I think you could be right. It‘s hard to say because of Bing‘s winter imagery and the clouds but it is possible. I‘ve driven past that airfield many times in real life, also in winter, and it definitely looks very similar there. I try to watch now in aerofly scenery... wait...

XP does not have water types (Classification). Only 1 water texture. I saw OrbX Florida screenshots for XP and what it seems being done is the classic transition between the Orthophoto water and the sim water with a blurred mask as we do with the 3rd party Ortho4XP tool. We had a discussion about a similar process we noticed in one of Asobo's videos... This means Asobo can do such a transition to fake water types but I think this goes against the good practices in the latest engines like theirs as for what they are capable of creating dynamically. Yet all this is a question of priority like many other items on their checklist. ________________________________LEBOR SIMULATIONSScenery for Flight Simulators since 1998

Asobo has clearly stated that recreating the "big beautiful planet" was a priority for them To show the waters of the world as nicely and convincingly as the ground and specially tropical shallow waters is part of that. The imagery obviously exists. I know the difficulty, I have struggled and never really succeeded to do it properly in P3D3. But I was just an amateur working with an old and limited terrain engine. A team of tens of professional programmers working with an engine they built up from scratch to do their bidding could maybe do better ? More generally isn't fS20 all about doing what XP and P3D have never been able to do 😏? More generally isn't fS20 all about doing what XP and P3D have never been able to do 😏? I totally agree, and I personally think they were aiming for such goals eventually. However since the closed beta date was announced, I wonder how many complex features could be completed or developed if not started until the date of the Closed Beta is here. For example, I see no roads yet. Only the Ortho and Photogrammetry (baked) roads. These are logically more important compared to water types if they had to choose in my opinion... Yet two months before the beta, these for some reason are not implemented yet. And I suppose there are too many refinement and adjustments to do on their list and let's not forget that it's not Asobo's project. MS is the owner of the project and they are over their shoulders deciding on what goes in and what goes out and when all this should be completed... Thus I am afraid all these ambitions might not be part of V1. Also we have no idea how MSFS will be updated, is it like XP, incremental with new goodies and refinements or major updates after few months. This could decide how much will be in V1. ________________________________LEBOR SIMULATIONSScenery for Flight Simulators since 1998
May 11, 20206 yr Reichenbach, Switzerland I’m not a 100 percent sure about this one but close to it. Perspective, weather and trees make it difficult to assess. But I think that many similarities would be too much of a coincidence. Now I am worried the entire Caribbean will be rendered to look like the deep ocean. We are getting towards the last few months before what looks to be a release date towards the end of the year, and I am thinking this would have been corrected long ago. If it looks like this now, i have doubt it will be fixed this late in development.
